What is the ceiling of this offense?

Could this be one of those super offenses that averages in the high 40s to 50s?

2019 LSU?
2020 Bama?
2008 OU?

As great as the 2024 offense was (#1 overall), I think we could be better this year. Much more skill talent, and even though Mensah doesn't quite have as much horsepower in his arm as Cam, the accuracy is cartoonish. He's throwing the ball 40 yards down field and it looks like a handoff.

We could've scored 60 against Stanford if we'd needed to.

The one question mark is the offensive line, specifically the interior. This unit hasn't really been tested yet. If they can hold up relatively well in pass pro, this offense is gonna go stupid on teams.

It was also the first time in decades that a team scored on its first 8 possessions, maybe it was 10. IDK, someone should post all the records broke last night. It was silliness.
 
2024 was like watching pinball. Back and forth cause we needed it to be since our defense was putrid. We won’t need to do that this year. Also our schedule is trash so maybe we have a shot to match numbers. I just think we will run the ball more than 2024 also. More balance attack
 
Let's get past Wake and Clemson before we start talking all time comparisons. The two teams we have played don't exactly have NFL talent in the front 7. I fully expect to see some iOL getting the **** pushed back at points this season. Mensah will get pressured and has already (fletcher missed wheel had a guy in his face).
 
Not enough information yet, but the little glimpses tell us the ceiling is Mensah's health and Mario/Dawson/Mirabal's willingness to spread out and find mismatches. Too accurate of a college QB and too many WRs, with too many solid RBs, to do anything but completely dictate every matchup on the field and choose accordingly. So, quantitatively, i don't know, because I'd like to see our OL pass protect against Wake and Clemson first.

The wheel route to Fletcher was thrown REALLY late or he would have been perfect cause Fletcher was wide open for 15 yards….and then Luke comes in and goes 8-8 so that would have been 23 straight.

Not sure how Dereon started that would gave extended / ended the perfect streak…
 
The ceiling is going to depend on our ability to finish drives with TDs against better comp. We are going to get large amounts of yards between the 20’s. Explosive TDs and finishing in the RZ

Samson looking like shutdown tackle gives me some solace. Fletcher’s blocking is gonna be a big asset.
