Not a corch move at all. He has nothing to lose going for 2. He was expected to get blown out. The better teams usually win in overtime (Hurts would be tough to stop on short field) unless they have a bad kicking situation....so let's review.

OU's kicker is 10/10 on the season. Iowa State's kicker is 9/13 but only 3/7 from 30+ so there's your answer.

We need to stop looking at every coach as an idiot when they lose. What we need to see is how administrations assemble teams that are in the playoffs.
Remember when Fuente was seen as a cant miss hire. Remember when fedora took unc fo the acc ****le game and Clemson had to out score them.
Look at the foolishness of 2 schools that hired Willie. Oregon with all its resources and money actually hired him. Think about that. Think about how many people all over the country thought that was brilliant by them. In fact, people thought that sht was so brilliant that FSU bought him out.
Now imagine this same pool of geniuses that went ahead and gave Jimbo the golden fckn goose after single handedly destroying FSU while they/we made fun of Orgeron at LSU.
We also need to stop crowning these dudes that win a lot of games against sht competition in conferences that don’t play any defense as the sure thing to a dynasty. Lincoln Riley was about to have 2 losses this season.
We need to reverse engineer what the teams, schools, admin, support staff, and booster bases do on teams that are successful. And imo we got at least one thing right for now. We have a coach that puts defense as paramount above all. That formula has worked in high school, college and the nfl. No team at any level has won with just offense.
Alabama under little Nicky does whatever he asked no matter how much it costs. But Saban has been around long enough and is smart enough to know where and how to spend it and was ahead of everyone while doing it.
Unless our administration is aware and onboard to do what these other schools are doing then we will be in 9-10 win purgatory with an occasional big win regardless of who is driving.

Going to overtime vs the better team or ending it in one play , it was the right move and the smart move
