Here's a crazy thought. After watching the first two games, I'm not expecting the Canes to win more than seven games this year. But they could improve. they could keep getting better and better and by the time the end of the season rolls around, they'll be really clicking and give FSU a really good game before we end up taking the Coastal and meeting the Noles again in the ACCCG to knock them out of the playoff picture. OK, I'll admit I had to take a huge swig of kool-aid to come up with that last part but why not? We are taking our lumps now, struggle through the season and then just take off. We've seen it before. I've all about our problems, but every good team figures it out and makes a season out of it. That would be fun to see. Especially with Kaaya learning on the job, and Duke getting his rhythm going again, there is a slight chance that it could happen.

That would be just fantastic....BUT Al Golden is our head coach, James "try-it-again" Coley is our offensive scheme-master, and Mark NoD is our defensive mastermind. We're not improving in any criteria until they improve in whatever the **** their trying to do.

I don't think it's that simple and I'm not sure it is worse. By 10/1, we'll know if it's worse. Right now the defense looks much better, and the offense and special teams have regressed. Saturday will give us some insight, and then we get big judgement days the next two weeks. Right now there are things that concern me as well. Namely the inability to manage the game efficiently. Even on defense, I have seen some things that you should not see with this type of veteran unit.
 
Donna is leaving, so if Al can hang on until then, the new president can fire him and get a real coach in here. Then your concept that we are about to take off might hold water.

D was much improved early last year too and for multiple reasons (different argument) they sucked by the end of the year.

Even though Duke was hurt we now see the reason for the BAD offense.

Year 4 and the "improvement" and "uptrend" is in severe hiatus. Still under perform against teams on/above and even below our level.

I don't give a lilly what happens this season. THE KIDS DON'T RESPOND TO THIS STAFF. Team never looks prepared.

ADMin needs to start preliminary search. And have shirt list by thanksgiving and be ready to announce by new years.

It is scary how good this team can be next year with a FLEXIBLE coach with BASIC football intelligence
