What if somehow Bob Stoops ended up here?

*** no, dude can't even be consistent at oklahoma of all places and has went from big game bob to get my *** kicked on the regular sally

He'd win 10+ a year here. Just get his brother off the defense. I'd take bob or mark at HC

Don't rule Stoops coming here out.....to board a connecting flight to the Caribbean....en route to a vacation home....that he bought with all the money he makes (will make) at places that pay fair market value for big name coaches.

You could name a lot worse candidates than that. 4 NC games since 2000, won one and lost to Pete Carrol, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. He is not in the first tier of coaches like Saban and Meyer, but we aren't about to spend 7 million a year on a coach either.

I'd do back flips. He's a stud and would be an instant upgrade. You get that type of resume at the helm at the U and its over! No one would be able to compete with us on recruiting.

All three of those coaches also won while recruiting in states with more talent. There's no logical reason that OU should be good in football besides tradition and facilities. They've always had to poach players from other states and in today's day and age, that's much tougher than it used to be.

My only question would be how much gas is left in the tank. If he was fired up to do his absolute best, he'd be the best hire we've possibly ever had on paper.

No thanks. Tired, worn out and at some point wouldn't be surprised if OU encouraged him to leave. And, if he were interested, doubt Miami could meet his price tag.

Stopps success was tied to his ability to find top offensive coordinators.

They talked about Bob Stoops on the College XM station this morning.

Basically said OU had a down season, but were 11-2 and Sugar Bowl champs the year before. And Stoops will right the ship.

I agree with them ... Stoops isn't going anywhere, unless he decides to retire.

He has a new OC, and if anyone thinks he's going to allow his brother to fail at DC, then you are completely delusional.

oklahoma is basically a texas school they're right on the border and regularly get elite recruits out of that state such as adrian peterson, oklahoma it self does not produce a ton of cfb talent but they are right next to a hotbed and not at a disadvantage

Why not? People act like he didn't just mop Bama in the Sugar Bowl two years ago. Bob is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over Alfred by 1000x. Is he my first choice? No. But he still pulls in top talent and he would be a welcomed sight over Golden any day of the week, here.
