Gotta think Mario now sees this BS for what it is and will no longer take his foot off the gas. He seems to now see he has to run it up every game. Won’t help us this year, but moving forward.

I'll answer for op. Of course not. However, not reaching the ACC title game with this roster, in year 4, is a failure. We are the most talented team in the conference by far. Many on this board, including D$, said it was ACC champions or bust this year. We failed. Had our worst game when we needed our best game. Mario's philosophy and caveman ball is a large reason why. This team should have gone 12-0. Mario refused to change until it was too late. 10-2 is nice, but we still failed and will play in a meaningless bowl that we'll probably lose. Duke, with 5 losses, is playing for the conference title. Lol. Mario has undoubtedly increased the talent, but he can't coach. Louisville beat us because Brohm is a far superior coach. We had 2 weeks to prepare for Louisville. We lost, at home, to a team that lost 4 games.

What if the refs rightfully called that a fumble against SMU or maybe called the mugging in the end zone on the last play, or maybe didn't call some BS holding penalty against us when the DE fell at the guys feet and he falls on him.

Those are the things UM can’t control. The entire laundry list in the OP were things we could control. See the difference?

The point you sunshine pumpers miss is we didn’t out coach anyone to get to 10-2. We got out coaches and outplayed to get to 10-2. It was the enemy within and what we left on the table for what could have been. So stop trying to sell this good vibes 10-2 like it’s a thing. It has bad after taste.

What if Mario had fixed the discipline, the turnovers, the third-down execution, the red-zone finishing, the composure — and stopped playing so conservative during SMU and LU!

We’d be playing for the ACC, not sitting on our knees hoping for a CFP miracle.

Two years in, and we’ve saw the same movie: penalties, sloppy mistakes, and playing not to lose. Don’t even get me started on the GTU fumble — still can’t believe that happened.

I’m tired of reading excuses. It’s not the refs. It’s not the ACC. It’s not Notre Dame, ESPN, or people “hating The U.”

The problem was Mario. Mario ruined 2 seasons in a row, 2 QBs, and the hopes of the U fan base!

you guys are morons. truly. yes you accept 10-2, all day long. sometimes 10-2 gets you a national title. sometimes 10-2 becomes 8-4, sometimes it becomes 11-1 or 12-0. those are the breaks in football at this level(or NFL).

but if you get a coach who gets you back to back 10-2 seasons after what we've gone through the last 20+ years, you support the **** out of them. especially to one that we've watched adapt, in the coaching world, quite quickly to make necessary changes.

if you idiots were in charge we'd be back to winning 5 games in a season in no time.

The thing is when Mario imho allowed Dawson to go more air-raidish you saw the whole team get energized. We played better. We were at our worst when we insisted on running and running and running. The change in approach yielded dividends beyond the offense producing better and looking better. I think we focused better and played better more sound football.

yes! another great point. not only has mario gotten us to success we havent sniffed in 20+ years, but hes a miami guy through and through. he's not looking to use us as a stepping stone like many other coaches would do. we want mario to be the guy. we need mario to be the guy.

I'm happy with the last 2 years, compared to the previous 20. There is no perfect coach, as close as Saban was, he ran off due to the current enviroment. Ultimately, we need more money. The gap between SEC/Big ten teams and the ACC/Big 12 will only keep growing. Got to figure that out.

I’m sure he learned a valuable lesson in having your foot on the gas against teams that are inferior, these last weeks are some of the best complimentary ball I’ve seen us play since I can remember including last year with atrocious defense. shouldnt had to have had our backs against the wall to realize this hopefully next year they put it all together for a full season. I support Mario for now. Hopefully he learned something from this year. But, if he goes back to the same weak *** phone booth dust philosophy next year.. well then it'll be **** him. I don't see us doing any better coaching wise so he really needs to keep this new step in philosophy. Work smarter not harder.
