What if Frierson and Carter switched positions

I always thought Carter was the best fit for Striker after Romeo left. He's more physical than most safeties and would allow him, Hall and Bolden to be on the field at the same time.

With Bolden hurt though, safety experience is very limited.....so a bit of a catch 22.

That's a move that's made when you have an experienced headcoach, or a quick thinking/learning headcoach, the play of gilbert went down from the gaytor game, he's definitely not a corner, but safety oor striker should be a good look!

I’ve noticed a few cases this year where Finley/Frierson were stuck covering receivers on deep routes. I’m just speculating, but I think opposing offenses are trying to take advantage of the striker position and burn them with deep routes. And Manny may be trying to counter by having a faster player with better cover skills at striker, like Frierson (and possibly Jaylen Harrell in the future), in the case the opposing offense tries to isolate them on deep passes. It seems our “in the box” safety (Carter) may actually be doing less one-on-one coverage than the striker. In some cases, it seems the striker ends up being used like a slot corner, and the “in the box” safety is more like another LB. Just speculation from what I’ve seen, not sure if anyone has more insight on this.

Just looking at this game, just like gilberts play went down, enos already's playcalling went downhill after the 1st drive. That **** has no common sense as an oc, that's his problem, we should've easily beat the gaytors by 2 touchdowns, why they kept playing will "should've redshirted" mallory in the redzone was straight stupidity. This game also showed jw15 doesnt have football common sense either, i dont care if its your 1st time starting, why you running straight out of bounds with the ball sideways losing yards, and than his scrambling this game showed how nervous he was out their. If we had any Cane standard offensive headcoach/coach they would've pulled jw15 to the side and told em right there, if i see you scrambling like that again, imma pull yo *** out the game. You dont let a **** qb be out their playing scared like that. This game played out how our whole season looked. Mismanagement of personnel, idiotic offensive playing call, especially when you got a young qb, but more importantly when you got young OT's, and an inexperienced offensive staff trying to work together. Along with stupid special teams coaching. Im surprised they didnt blame Blades like theydid ivey, consistently outcoached when it mattered on our special teams coverage units and pathetic kicing, bubba got worse, at least coach diaz benched em tho.

That was one incoherent paragraph.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but it just seems like both players would benefit if their roles were reversed. Frierson especially looks like an ideal safety, (size and speed). Also hoping Bubba Bolden makes a full recovery. The secondary was playing at a high level right before he got injured.
would be an awesome position change in my opinion. Carter's more built for the outside linebacker with speed. Same thing like RAy RAy years ago. Get to the league and they switch him to linebacker.

Has Frierson really been proven to be good in coverage? I don’t remember too many plays he has made on the ball. I remember quite a few missed coverages.

Carter seems like an ideal stryker, much more effective as a hitter in the box than out there in coverage. He allowed more receptions thrown his way than anybody else. I think Frierson was moved to stryker because he doesn’t move as fluid as the other safeties and he’s also bigger than the rest. Hall and Bolden should be starting without a doubt.

So by your logic, they both should be strikerz

Don’t trust him to run with slot receivers, but he may be able to keep plays in front of him lined up deep.

Thought the purpose of the striker was to play the slot physically to allow the pass rush to get home.

Spying, stunting and late blitzing so much can leave them exposed facing speed.
