What if Spartacus had a Sherman tank?
CorrectOP; I think it would be best if u explained where “What If” came from, b/c u’ll come across as a porster vs. a poster trying to have an
upside-down world conversation.
So for the board, “What If” is a Disney+ concept of different scenarios in the Marvel Multiverse, where one scenario causes a whole alternate ending & domino effect. An example is, “what if” Thor was an irresponsible party boy while his brother Loki was the hope for his planet? How would the movie Thor look in that situation?
So OP is giving a college football edition of “what if” & what would be the domino effects in these scenarios. Hopefully that clarifies the gist of this. It appears to be a fun, off-topic wild imagination discussion, but I can’t speak on behalf of OP
Was it the Harkonnens though? Seem like the emperor wanted the house of Atrieides in dirt just as much as the Harkonnens. What if the House Harkonnen never tried to sabotage House Atreides by sending 3 Battalions to Arrakis?
What if I had pulled out?
The House Harkonnen has been plotting against House Atriedes for hundreds of years because of what happened at the Battle of Corrin. Baron Harkonnen had been manipulating Emperor Corrino IV for a long time by using the fact that the Bene Gesserit had prophesied that the House of Atriedes would take the throne from House Corrino because the Emperor had no heir, he never had a son, only a daughter. Was it the Harkonnens though? Seem like the emperor wanted the house of Atrieides in dirt just as much as the Harkonnens.
You’re not thinking about the shock and awe factor though. Those Romans don’t know all those things are needed for the tank to last more than several miles. Your only option is to role into the middle of the Forum with that thing immediately, blow the Senate building apart, and establish your new tyrannical rule as everyone cowers in fear. And then you shoot a shot off once every few months and hope people don’t realize you ran out of fuel.Would not have made much difference unless the tank had the logistical support. A fuel truck or two, an ammo truck, spare parts for the inevitable breakdowns, trained mechanics with the special tools needed for the beast. Even then, a well-placed or lucky strike from those stone-throwing siege slings could damage or even cripple the tank.
