Say by some happenstance P Manning takes over for D Bledsoe that fateful night.

Would Belichek & Manning be less, equally, or more dominant than what became the Belichek & Brady dynasty?

Manning would have been more successful than he was, BUT he would have faced a lot more questions about taking HGH or whatever he was accused of if he was a Patriot. Just like our Canes any negative news equals a ton of clicks from all the haters out there

I think putting all of that talent around Manning would have created more success. Don't get me wrong, Brady is good, but Manning is a master. He can read defenses possibly better than any QB in history. Put his brain together with Belicheck, that is scary!

Peyton did not perform well when the weather got cold in the playoffs. His unbelievable throws were adjusted by the cold or wind

Manning always found a way to come up small in big moments , just like in college. People forget both of his Sb wins he was awful in the playoffs. I know his first SB he had more int’s than tds, while having a great ol and skill guys. Bob sanders had that d balling during that run.

I’d be willing to get Brady didn’t do anything like that. Brady always seemed to get better in the big moments.

Lastly I don’t think Belichik and Manning could’ve coexisted. BB is to the pats what Manning was to the colts. Like Lebron he controlled everything , he’s had control all the way back to HS so it would’ve eventually hit the fan in NE. Brady is a pretty chill dude , not too alpha. So he fit perfect with Bb.

There have been many great passers who everyone assumes would win more championships with "better" coaching or support. That ignores the fact that the QB is the single most important element of the equation. Bob Griese's definition of his perfect game was "one in which I threw zero passes and won". Had talent and great coaching: three peat to Super Bowl and won two with Perfect Season(yes Earl QB'd most of those wins) Dan has same coach and two of the best WRs ever and great Oline: one Super Bowl loss.

I hate Pats and Brady but the dude did everything EXCEPT take his team undefeated to the end. But nine Super Bowls with 6 wins says it all. Those are records TEAMS would die for as total franchise record, let alone a player. Manning does not touch him period and lets remember he had some serious talent including a pair of all time Canes on offense. My take is the Manning is control freak and Tom is a furious winner. Give me intensity over controlling any day. Time we start the rumor that the UM Tom went to was the real one: University of Miami.

What if belichick was with Cleveland still and had brady? Are they still successful or do they succumb to the browns curse

All what talent? Dude had Marvin, Reggie and Edge basically his entire career.

An often forgotten part of the Brady/ Belicheck dynasty is that Tom Brady was working for pennies on the dollar pretty much his entire career in New England. The catch 22 in the NFL is that you need a top flight quarterback to compete but after the rookie contract, a top flight QB will command a huge portion of your total team's salary available under the cap. While Tom Brady was signing extensions for Ryan Tannehill type money, Payton Manning was the highest paid player in the league. New England always had salary cap flexibility while Indianapolis had to dump salaries because they couldn't afford to pay everyone.

As a Pats fan, Manning likely would have had similar success, but I don’t know that I can say he would have had the exact same success as Tom. Manning played in a dome his entire career and was surrounded by HOF guys like Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Edge and lots of other guys who were pro bowers if not HOF like D Thomas, Sanders, Welker, Garçon, Clark, etc. Brady has had his share of weapons as well over his career but they never “loaded up” for him outside of ‘07. The one year he had legit weapons he broke records and flirted with a perfect season. What Brady lacked in physical ability he made up for with preparation, leadership and mental ability.

Also as mentioned by several other guys here, Brady taking less as often as he did was a huge reason the Pats were able to keep a legit team around him for most of his career as well. Peyton was always getting paid at the top or right under the top of the market which as we’ve seen before can hurt a teams ability to make moves elsewhere.

tldr: Manning would have been successful with Bill but I can’t say it would be to the same extent as what Brady did.

This might be taboo for me to say this, but I think Manning is overrated. I’m not a Pats fan, in the least, but Tom is the GOAT. Give Tom Peyton’s teams and give Peyton Tom’s teams, and Tom has 9 rings. Tom playing w Clark, Harrison, Edge, and Wayne??! In a pass friendly offense??!! F that; Tom has 10 rings.

I think the talent statement is fair, but give anybody the cap flexibility the pats had because of Tom taking lesser contracts. Tom had great OL and solid defenses his whole time there. Colts usually were trash on defense and after Edge left the run game was garbage. I'm very interested to see what Brady does in TB though. Talent around him is not an issue.
