What I See: Ohio State Edition

Yeah they're not skilled like Messi or Bain. They're just power and effort that's why I said we need to finish our blocks.

I was listening to a podcast from a guy who seemed to know his buckeye football. He said he doesn't expect Patricia to respect our deep ball and Caleb Downs will be down in the box. He said expect a lot of press man/single high.
Moore
Merrion
Daniels
Need to get loose

Pitt game to see us at our best this season. Defense plays well the whole game, but gets got on the occasional deep shot. Offense starts slow but then turns it on in the 2nd quarter.

ND, UF, AND FSU (pick one) show how the team can dominate a game and let a team back in getting too conservative.

SMU and Louisville to see how we can be out coached to lose the game.

Wont really see us getting out-physicalled
Excellent summary. And good point about the out-physicalled assessment which is why I don’t understand the spread unless they believe Beck is going to go Louisville this game.

I think we play like Indiana and try to have deep safety help shadowing Smith so they don’t get cheap shot TDs.

Possessions will be limited.

They pressed a lot in the Indiana game. I expect CJ Daniels to have a couple of 50/50 opportunities and JoJo will have an opportunity to beat his man deep.

I think if we stay creative like we have been and use our speed off tackle from time to time. I think we can run on them. Like I said, they haven’t faced an Oline like ours all year. I also don’t think they faced a thunder and lightning backfield like ours all year as well.
Being creative is good but I don't want Dawson overextending himself as a playcaller to get creative like against Texas A&M. I don't want to see Toney getting carries as a leadback. Give those carries to Pringle.

Beck being effective as a passer will force OSU to lighten up the box which will make running the ball a lot easier as the numbers will be in our favor.

Yuh, you don't need to do the Malicat double reverse to Beck to throw it play when you take over at the opponent's 20 yard line after an INT @ShannonDaw$on

Lol, no. Patricia is too ******* arrogant to do that. Have seen him too often, he has his style of defense and doesn't change regardless of whom he plays. It's his way or the highway.

There is a way to expose his defense, it's boring and repetitive, but it's the only way you'll get him. Throw the check down and pull everyone and their grandma on the O-Line. Run bunch formations till we dream about them at night. They hold gaps up front and have the LB clean up. Spams Liz coverage at the backend and lets the athletes deal with it, so forget the shot down the middle. Only chances we have on the perimeter is going up and getting it.

There's nothing fancy about his scheme or what he is doing. He is running the same BS over and over again and has elite players bail him out.
Rocket science!

Ohio state is gonna run tempo early and often. Even if they don’t score they are gonna try to tire out the defense. Even if they don’t score they’re gonna be taking shots all night.

They feel they are wide receiver U and are gonna want to prove it early. Obviously they will score points. I just don’t know how much they think they can on our defense.
IMO the key to this game has to be us talking about Dawson in the same light as we have been talking about Heatherman.

I’d be curious to know if anyone believes there will be any fundamental differences with Day resuming play calling duties compared to Hartline, or do you think it will be fairly identical?
Day will take more shots downfield, OSU had more explosive plays when Day was the OC, even though their offense was less efficient

Two names on offense: Cj Daniels & Brockermeyer

Two names on defense: Toure and whoever is on tate

We need daniels to make some 50/50 plays down the field, 3rd down and in the redzone. Patricia is from the belichick tree im almost 100% sure the entire gameplan will be around stopping Toney, their plan is usually always to take away your main guy. Brackets, and calls for wherever he lines up on the field, dawson needs to leverage that

We need brock to hold his own so the run game and beck have a chance to get a rhythm.

Day will try to find ways to exploit toure in coverage he has to be solid. I think our corners matchup well against Jeremiah, tate is the one that fits the mold of guys who can cause trouble especially down first …And even if Jeremiah goes off we need to make sure its only him and not both
