Tears What hurts most

I thought the defense tightened up after the first two drives and played a good game overall, and if we’re playing good complimentary football the offense would be doing its job but all I got was crucial penalties and interceptions from Carson Beck …..
Defense did tighten up and played pretty good overall the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th qtr. Still allowed some huge 3rd downs to Louisville on both their scoring drives in the 2nd half. That's why I was saying Brohm seemed to be a step ahead of Heatherman on some drives.

Was cat and mouse game most of the 2nd half, but we didn't shut them out. Louisville won some and Heatherman won some. We didn't completely dominate them, so I can't give Heatherman a pass. Probably did good enough for us to win if Dawson and Beck don't completely **** the bed.

Yea all im saying is defense did enough to win us this game and the offense **** the bed

This was the Carson Beck I was afraid would eventually rear his ugly head. He started to appear earlier in the season, but this was his official coming out party.

For all the talk about Brohm outcoaching Heatherman for most of the game (and he did), for all the talk that the Canes came out flat again after a bye (and they did), for all the talk about too many dumb penalties (and there were too many), for all the talk the offense was too predictable (and it was), and for all the talk that Miami's OL couldn't run block tonight (and they couldn't), the truth is, if Beck doesn't throw 4 INTs the Canes win the game.

This actually shows this team can be special if they can get their **** together. Most teams would lose by 20 or more points in games like tonight. The key is can Mario ever get the team to get their **** together in November and later?

Btw, I'll give part of the blame to the schedule maker. Everyone thought it was stupid to have both byes within a 3 week span. Mario already has his issues getting teams ready to come off of bye weeks, but to throw off any kind of momentum by breaking the season up so quickly makes it even more difficult.

Heard it on the bboc podcast. Mario always does this. Will be out coached. Tackling has been declining game over game.
I thought the tacking was one of our main culprits tonight, but what is us opening the playbook and throwing the kitchen sink at someone look like?? Why is it always the other team doing it to us?? We as fans expect that. Why can’t we be the the team that does that to catch a team off guard??

This is where I’m disappointed. We needed help tonight. Brohm gave his team a cushion tonight. Why didn’t we get cute to help our offense?? Why didn’t we coach scared when we needed something to make them play on their heels??

Also if there’s a guy that explosive in your back yard, recruit him. Talking about Isaac Brown. There’s no “he’s undersized” bull**** in college football.

Ask yourself why you weren’t saying the same. How many times does it have to happen before you accept it?

We are at a coaching disadvantage in every game sans Billy Napier. So there’s no reason to even harp on it. We do nothing to scheme an advantage. We just pray our better roster will hold on for dear life against awful ACC competition. Year after year

As I grow older, and I’ll be 61 in November, I’ve learned to expect disappointment from life.

Tonight doesn’t hurt much. I expected this type of lackluster effort at some point during the season. I thought the first loss might come tonight, and I was right. Would not surprise me if Miami lost at SMU in a few weeks and at Pittsburgh to close out this season, finishing 9-3.

Miami might even be on such a down cycle they could lose at Virginia Tech and close out the last two games 0-2, snd 8-4.

I don’t expect a positive response from the team. We’ve never seen one in recent memory. When was the last Miami team to stumble during the season only to turn around and finish strong? Mark Richt’s team that one actually won a bowl game.

Yep, buddies texting me "thought ya'll weren't the same ol Miami"...yeah we are. Hiking during football season is much more gratifying than watching Canes and Phins football.
