If we win the national title I doubt Butch would have left. He would have been too popular. We probably win 3 straight national titles from 2000-02. I wonder how long Butch would be able to keep up the success. He may have set the bar so high in those 3 years that people get tired of him starting around 2007 because he can't match those 3 years. I'd like to think he'd still be at least in the top 10 every year and maybe he'd currently be training someone to be his successor.

Butch was leaving regardless. Only difference is someone other than the Browns might have paid him even more. UM wasn't going to pay him what he deserved.

He still would have left. It wouldn't have been any different than Howard leaving after 83. Same goes for Jimmy leaving after three straight years of either winning or being **** close to a championship.

Butch would've left just with a bigger contract in Cleveland and it probably happens almost immediately instead of the first day in February.

2001 team ain't as hungry... Still think we win, but not as dominate as they were

Good point, which leads to this thought... Maybe the players don't demand Larry Coker to be hired since they won their title. Ed Reed probably leaves for the NFL as well.
