The only time you see them make a play now is on a blitz. Telling

they are SLOW. I'm not part of the S&C conspiracy group either. Other than big hits McCloud was probably always overrated. As for Shaq and Mike, they are just average guys. Mike flashes good instincts at times but for the most part he is prone to over pursuit/gambling wrong and misses quite a few tackles. Shaq is too slow to play MLB and isnt able to fly sideline to sideline...he also misses tackles...i would rate his instincts as below average.

not trying to knock them but that's my opinion. I wish we would make a commitment to recruiting LBs with speed and instincts...I imagine there's no shortage of that in sofla hs football. Someone started a thread last week asking what type of defense would we prefer if given the choice...I'd like to see something that resembled the dolphins defense of the late 90s-early 00s under Jim Bates. I think he ran something similar to the tampa-2 but with blitzes/zone blitzes incorporated. It's based on block eaters at DT (2 big men who can eat blocks and get up field), with DEs who can set the edge first and rush the passer...athletic LBs who might be a bit undersized but can run line to line. Press man on the outside with 2 deep.

Diaz blitzes so much and its funny because under dorito we complained we didnt blitz enough. Diaz fills that void but i dont think we generate nearly enough pressure or get home enough to justify the numbers we send regularly. I would like to diaz incorporate more zone blitzes which I think would still create threat of pressure but also help cover for our inexperience in the secondary, especially if JJ misses time.

The weight loss has hampered Shaq. He isn't athletic enough for it to make a difference. He was effective in 2016 at 240 lbs knocking people out of their cleats. Now the pile falls forward when he makes a tackle. Pinckney is the same guy imo. McCloud isn't a factor now but perhaps he should be playing instead of Mike Smith as the first guy off the bench.

they are overrated. they are not better than perryman, ambrister, and grace if you want to be honest about it but in '16 the coaches didnt have a chance to recruit so they had to keep what was there.

We assumed that experience would negate any physical limitations they had. And in time it has been revealed to us that none of them are elite in any patericular aspect of playing the position. They don’t have exceptional speed, strenght or instincts. They aren’t great against the run for reasons already outlined by others. And they are too slow and lack the coverage skills to be elite in the passing game.

With that said they are a good core not a great core. I think Pinckney has the most playmaking potential of the group but he also takes the most chances of the group.

Need more seasoning, hope they have received the wake up call. They all need to comeback next year(junior eligible players)

There isn't a junior on this roster who should even consider not returning to school.

From my eyes it looks like Quarterman gets washed out and/or picks the wrong gaps when reading run plays.

And he is almost always a few steps behind covering an RB out of the backfield.

Pinckney is what he has always been. Big hitter, good blitzer, makes an occasional big play.

McCloud has disappeared. Don’t even notice him when he’s on the field this year.

They were balling freshman yr, idk what happened
They are awful . they were better as freshman .. its sad.. no leadership no accountability ... seems like coaches praise them for idk what... I guess shaq is a good public speaker....
we need real lbs ....

heres one

is sad how far apart he is compared to shaq and pickney and mike smith ... I would add zach but its not fair cuz they have zach playing the wrong position for his skillset

Pinckey just had a great game.

Shaq has been solid all season.

McCloud doesn't play much vs spread teams it looks like.

Another hilarious CIS lynching session. Now I see why Shaq's dad left. We've played 3 ******* games, and its really 2 since they barey played vs SSU. How can you say they suck based on so little?
Shaqs dad left ?!?! wow I wonder why ,, shaq sucks !!!!! do u not watch him ??
