Second game in a row they’ve gotten stuffed on 3rd/4th and 1 where they insisted on bringing in 3 or 4 250lb TEs, running a goal line set and then trying to run behind a 290 lb center and 280 lb guard. Why have they gone away from bringing in a bunch of 330 lb OL to line up at TE? Do they not have a 300 lb OL on the bench that can play the H-Back role like SJ did last year? It’s not like they’re asking them to do anything elaborate. You’re just lining up, keeping your pad levels low, and driving the defender.

The difference is Anez, CiCi and Bell are in the NFL.
That makes no difference. If they’re gonna line up and try to bully a 1 yard gain then they need the extra bodies (mass) to do it. Your assertion is that they’re smaller in the front 5 than last year so the solution is to go even smaller when you try to bully a yard?

My point is they got a push that allowed SJ to pick and choose a LB to block. I don't care how many 300lb HBs you put in there, if the oline doesn't do their job then it won't matter.

The one where we flew in the air in place instead of going forward?
Ok your theory that mass equals push, then why not find the fattest guy jnnthe stadium and out him on the line.

The earlier post said it, Cici, Bell and Cooper are in the NFL. That's the biggest change. Having really good players makes all your play all look like good ones.

And even then we used a 6th OL and a FB often. With those elite players who as you said all made the league. The point is that Dawson abandoned it completely compared to last year. I wish he explained the reasoning for it.

We’re great on 3rd/4th and 1 last year either after being unstoppable in 2024.

I loved the tendency breaker on the goalline with the pitch to Mallory. Nobody home. Guess why? Because we ALWAYS run into the A-gap in those situations.

Yes because we don't have that type of depth, this year, we're building to it. We don't have the person they want as a body type of a FB.

Last year was a different team with Beck at QB now it's Mensah. I can go on for more reasons.
He doesn't owe the fans an explanation as to why offense shape differently every year with different personal, seems pretty obvious it should.
