What happened to kaaya arm strength?

I remember watching some of his stuff from high school and his arm looked way stronger than it does now.

Is it because he is not stepping into his throws?

I read somewhere that he was having troubles in camp with the deep ball because he puts to much air on his throws. Is that **** the problem?

This is just a shot in the dark but golden said he went from 230 to 206 while in the short time on campus. You can lose alot of muscle losing weight that fast. So I'm guessing his arm strength decreased due to his weight lost. Don't know why they made him lose weight 230 is a great weight for a QB.

Winston throws a similar ball to Kaaya and don't hear their fans complaining about it. Kaaya puts some zip on his slants and puts some loft on the deeper balls.

Also, Kaaya has Coley as coach -- Winston was spared that experience.

all i know is that kayaa was throwing those deep balls like it was high school just throwing them (like JH) in the air expecting someone to catch it.

Idk why the staff made him come down in weight

225 would have been fine. He's no scrambler anyway. More weight means he can take a little more punishment

Mechanics and footwork aren't refined. Often doesn't step into throws. Not sure if he's gun shy from pass rush or what. Really wish we had dedicated QB coach to further develop these kids.

I never got the weight loss, he's still slow by everyone's admission, so why? I'm baffled.

The only thing wrong with his arm is Confidence. He isn't firing the balls into the receivers with confidence. It will come with time. Once that dude comes around, this team will take off.

Kaaya does have arm strength. Just needs to be more confident like mydas said.

arm strength doesn't just disappear.

we just overestimated it.

also, we are used to seeing Morris' arm for the past two years. Morris had many faults, but arm strength was not one of them.

it looks like our coordinator/coaches still think Morris is playing QB though.

I've noticed this too. Even ****** Haeps looked to have more zip. Looks like he's trying to pinpoint everything. Just needs to have more confidence and let it rip. Not too worried about it long term. From what we've seen so far taking a long term view, nothing I've seen from Kaaya makes me worry about his long term success here. If the offensive cord. gets his **** together this kid could be really good in a year.

He's got plenty of arm. He doesn't have Morris's arm, but he's not Jacory either. He's clearly shell shocked, which is why he had no business starting this early. His lack of savvy cost us two touchdowns in the opener. Fact is he has failed and will continue to fail at the gate because of that abomination of a line. Hopefully the guy has a strong constitution and can learn this year despite his coaches' incompetence so that the new staff has a hardened veteran ready to go next year.

If we're being fair, Harris had better touch on his deep ball and looked better than BK to this point. I'm not throwing in the towel on him, but he's got a long way to go before he deserves to be out there starting.

His arm strength is fine. His problem on some deep balls is the speed of the game. He is under estimating the speed of both his receivers and the DB's. With experience that will change. His arm is stronger than Dorsey's ever was.
