What happened on this play with O’Connor?

He didn’t trust himself. Took the safe play instead of risking missing it and being a big play for Indiana. If I remember right the next play was a huge pass for a 3rd conversion for IU. Literally any of our other DBs takes that back for 6. O’Connor played good for the most part, got beat on some really good back shoulder passes but yeah, this one made me throw my hat. He read it and reacted perfectly, just didn’t trust himself or he just doesn’t have that killer instinct I guess.

Maybe I’m seeing things but it looked to me that all season the DBs had a tendency to jump in the air at a ball when it wasn’t necessary. Stay on your feet and it’s a pick 6. Anyone else notice this?

he mentally doesnt have what it takes. you can tell from how he reacts to basic plays all year, the two almost INTs vs ole miss, and this play here where he was celebrating instead of realizing he should've had the pick 6. It doesn't even register to him that the pick 6 was a possibility. and that's the most disappointing part.

No reason to put a hand on the receiver, but he couldn’t catch a ball with two hands in the ole miss game maybe he thought one would work this time.
