How quickly you guys turn on probably the only coach in America that would stay with a program under such circumstances as he had to endure. I'm not a Golden apologist, but just a rational thinker. Do you expect a guy that stuck with us through almost 2 and a half years of misery, to just up and fire his staff members. These guys came from a program that was almost shutdown. They had no pressure at all. Everything could be done at their own pace. Now they are dropped into the extreme pressure cooker that is the Miami fanbase, as well as the NCAA garbage. Two things they have never had to deal with. None of us can know the pressure Al and his staff are under. None of these guys want to lose, and obviously they want to be here. Al is not a moron, and I believe if he feels change is needed, regardless if its his friends or not, he will make them.

I can't blame guys like Highsmith, Gaines, Corneilious , or Green. It's not their fault they were offered a scholarship. They are trying to follow their dream, just like anyone of us would do. Again, none of us can imagine the work these guys put in. Yes its true that they don't possess the natural talent for this level of football, but someone afforded them the opportunity and they took it, as any of us would.

I know its frustrating to watch, and that sick feeling creeps into your stomach when we lose. But being a true fan is sticking with your team through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Not making thread after thread, trashing the players and coaches, and saying they don't deserve a crowd at the games. Nobody wants to win more than they do. Because at the end of the day, these guys have families, parents, friends, girlfriends, that they sacrifice spending time with to play the game they love. And that's just what it is, a game. Not life or death, or something to be miserable about. Because win or lose, the next day your life is going to be there. As bad as things get, I will never give up on my team and stop cheering for them. Hopefully, nobody here will either.

We are all still Canes fans. We just want a new defensive staff

I admire Al's determination, his will, his relentlessness but he's too stubborn and too attached to his way that has been proven doesn't work over the past couple of games

Yup. One of the worst traits a coach can have. Stubbornness.

Belichick has constantly changed his offensive and defensive philosophies to best suit the roster he has.

Wish Golden would do the same.

I can't wait til' we're back and and see all these idiots claiming to be Miami fans hop right back on the bandwagon and act like they've been there all along.

It's INEVITABLE that'll we'll get back to where we once were. And there's no better person to do it than Golden because you know he will stay here unlike the other coaches we've had. WHEN he gets us back we're gonna stay on top for a looong time. We just have to have patience and not freak out after every loss.

after the duke game, you have to question the coaching staff. i like golden and think w a great staff, he can get it turned around. he needs a new DC, philosophy, and needs to be hands off.

Please tell me who was knocking down Golden door to hire him? He probably had no choice..You act like he's an established winning coach.Hes done nothing in his career and hasn't accomplished ****> He never won a MAC championship **** he never even beat a winning team from the MAC.

UCLA, the season before we hired was rumored to be extremely high on him. Then Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Auburn were all rumored to have shown interest. They may or may not be top flight offers, but 2 of those schools (Auburn &Wisconsin) has had a stronger 5 seasons as of late. That's including Auburn's 3-9 season. Say what you want, but other schools took notice in Golden.

Exactly. Belichik went from a 3-4 to more 4-3. He also saw where offensive football was going, so he learned spread concepts. Actually met with Urban Meyer and Chip Kelly to learn schemes and principles. Guess where he got that uptempo offense the Pats run? Chip Kelly.

Stubborn coaches don't cut it in today's football, change is necessary. Football is always changing.

Nick Saban said in a recent interview that the uptempo offense is intriguing to him and something he'd look into possibly implementing . It causes too many advantages for the offense.

Here's the article .

Who cares Al Golden is a bum, that's why he stayed, he was busy losing in the MAC conference before he got the job.... this is heaven for him.

So not saying anything for 3 years is suddenly turning. Don't fool yourself into believing what everyone was writing on here. People were not happy after that **** show last year but gave al a pass cause he had such a young team. This season he got a pass cause we were winning. But eyes started to open from the GT game on. It's just that everyone was so ecstatic to be undefeated we overlooked it. Even the fsu game no one really said anything. But letting VT do what they did to us with the coastal on the line? Unacceptable. Then only reaffirming what we were complaining about for the last two years with the duke game. Well it all became too much.

This wasn't some sudden turn. This has been building up for three years. And yes we are glad he stayed the course during the NCAA cloud but he makes two million dollars a year. That's his job.

I love our fan base. We got spoiled with a 7-0 start. Everyone hoped for a 10 win season. We can still finish 9-3 and get a decent bowl game. Granted none of us thought we would have lost to Duke, but Duke is clearly better then the nation thought. I know it's the way we lost that has us all ****ed off, but like I seen another poster write we got players in position they aren't comfortable in. They where recruited for the thing they did well and are now asked to do something else.

Nobody is jumping off the Miami bandwagon. Criticizing bad coaching doesn't make someone a bandwagon fan.

If we stuck here through Coker and Shannon, we're not leaving now either. I hate people like you who think they're better fans than those of us who don't blindly support every aspect of the program. You're the reason we're not back yet.

Of course he was willing to stay through all of turmoil...because in the end he knew this was the best job he would ever be able to land.
