Good lord. I would not pin it on one person but Willie was god awful. As an aside Im not sure what up with Norvel. Thought he might have been good for them. He was not a first time HC.. Had Memphis almost beating PSU in a bowl game.. but some good backs in the league. I think that place is cursed.. Shame as the ACC would be in a different place if FSU and Miami held up their end of the bargin.

Title winning coaches find themselves with 5 or more loss seasons. Downward trend continues with the next hire.

If you don’t turn it around quick, the longer it will take to turn it around.

In all fairness, FSU was a raging dumpster fire when Norvell took over. ****, they weren't much better when Willie arrived. It takes time to clean up that toxic waste landfill. Vince Lombardi couldn't win with that team.
 
Everyone is missing the elephant in the room. Up until roughly 2000 - Miami, fsu and the gator got the cream of the crop recruits and could stack them 2 deep like Alabama is doing now. The recruiting of UCF, FIU, FAU, South Florida, and every school in the nation raiding Florida talent has created parity. It is unlikely any of our Florida teams will ever become a dynasty again, we will have great seasons or two but not the powerhouse teams we had, fsu had and Urban Meyer had.
Look at Clemson today, without Trevor Lawrence (and Etienne) they looked rather pedestrian and they could easily fade to the middle of the pack as our Florida teams have. The talent pool is only so deep and spreading it out heightens the effect of injuries for depth purposes.
Our reserves used to come in and out perform our starters. We won championships with replacement players when a "star" got hurt or suspended. No longer is that the case. DEPTH doesn't exist for most schools, at least not like JJ and Ericson had. In one vein Diaz was right today as he tries to build from recruiting, he has won every off season by the recruits he lands...just wish they would play as expected be it attitude or poor coaching many are not living up to expectations.
All we fans can do is roll the dice and see if they come up winners.
 
Willie had back to back recruiting classes made up of 36 4 star DBs and no one on offense.
 
Fspoo had every call go there way, cheated as they always do with dirty hits that don’t get called and missed a critical FG…

Glorious day…facing 9 losses and maybe 10…

Please God, I ask that FSPoo keep Norvell for another 4 years…at a min.

FSU is down for a few reasons. First, high school coaching has improved across the country and the value of raw undeveloped talent is not as high as it use to be. Second, FSU recruited a lot of bad character guys.This started happening at the end of Jimbo's career and Willie accelerated it. It's going to take them 4 or 5 years to fix this.
