What do you think of Diaz's coaching staff?

Honestly, offense is a little weak. A WR coach from AIR FORCE of all places? Not it. Lamar Thomas was begging for that job.. I'm a little worried but I guess we'll see what happens next year.

I'm sorry, do U know something about Thomas that we don't? How many 1000 yard WRs has Thomas coached?

OMG, they have not coached anything yet and folks here are unimpressed....It has been a long time since I've been this encouraged as a fan and can't wait for spring practices
******* A, everyone has their panties in a wad and we haven’t played down one. Bring it down, I realize that there are college experts on every corner of this forum but settle the **** down. The future is bright, Manny will add and subtract as this beast unfolds. Give the screeching urgency a ******* rest. Breathe and focus.🙌🏿

nobody knows anything about any of them. let it play out and let's talk once we actually have a visual on the product and data to go off of.

This.
Overall, I am intrigued at least. Not sure about Stubb's tbh, but that may be my own ignorance. I follow Air Force Academy football very closely, but due to their scheme and recruting limitations, it's hard to get a read on him from there. He has coached in some more pass oriented offenses however. Will be interesting to see if Enos has 100% green light with play calling and how that goes for us. Patke is a better coach than some give him credit for. His ability to coach ST however is a bit of an unknown. Field is a good on field hire and hot on the crootin trail. A bit of NFL experience on the staff is also good. My totally irrelevant grade is a solid B for the staff. That being said, I can see them growing together with chemistry and experience at their new positions becoming an A staff by Fall 2020. Again, my irrelevant answer to the OP thread.

Gut feeling but I happen to believe Patke will be great at ST.

The only ?? is Stubs but I'm not going to ***** and moan. Have no idea about the guy.

It seems like Manny got who he wanted and gave Enos reign to get some of his guys. I'll trust Enos over anyone porsting here.

It's not a very balanced staff as it sits today.

The defense: is all technicians, no established recruiters, with a guy like Rumph proving he can't recruit.

The offense: the TE coach has proved to be an elite recruiter. After that, there isn't a guy that has proved he can recruit, or with the WR coach, I'd go so far as to say he's proved he can't recruit. Which you could argue is acceptable, if those guys had proved to be elite technicians. But can anybody actually say the OL coach has proved to be a great instructor? The WR coach proved to be a great instructor?

Lamar Thomas is an old man still coaching the same position. Get me the young smart guy who can advance in his career

Oh yeah!

If Stubb can't coach and develop scores of receivers - he can't be any good.

Especially in the ultimate hotbed of receivers in the entire nation - Utah.
Not saying he is bad but if he was great, maybe he would have been offered a better job in more of a hot bed also why hasn’t Purdue hired him? Isn’t that his alma mater?

Holy ****, stop with the tactician/technician bull****, they’re ******* Coaches. Let them coach, teach, cajole, squeeze, the best out of these kids. How many here have ever coached any thing other than their **** out of their pants. Give us and the coaches a break till season. They **** up, all your **** is deserved. But withhold. Enjoy where we are, the talk of college football.

This staff has already proven they can recruit at a high level (and in just a few weeks). While Brevin played a big role for sure, we weren't getting Martell & Bolden under the old staff (which had "great" recruiters like Dugans & Hartley). Field and the new RB coach (as well as others) will be stout recruiters. Manny is a Manimal and will reel them in too. Enos will do well too.

We have upgraded the staff on Offense significantly over what we had. Last year, our WRs couldn't catch consistently, our OL play was below expectations and our QBs had an issue completing passes (except to the opponents). I'm sure we upgraded both our Offensive Scheme (which was incredibly limited) and our QB coaching (significantly). Enos was wanted by Bama and Clemson (among others) and I think Saban knows a little bit about football.

Things are looking up! Way up!

Lamar burned his bridge w that Louisville suck off

Diaz went for best coaches. Not going the guys I know route.

Diaz kept all the guys he "knew" on D, hired a DC he "knew".. & then let his OC hire 3 out 4 positions from guys he "knew from CMU. It might work but that's literally the route he took here.
