WHAT DO You think happened?

Real simple.

His time had passed him by and he realized it after this year’s results.

He was smart enough to know he couldn’t help the program anymore and realized his career was over.

Remember he was going to retire after being let go by Georgia. He was planning to take a year or two off. A lot of times when people do that they end up taking the next 30 years off.

He was done, simple as that. And good on him for not taking the program down for one or two years

Yes, you could tell. His heart was not in it. His heart was not really in it when we first hired him but Blake James pushed and pushed because of his excellent and respected image/character. He doesn't need the hassle and pressure anymore With his contacts can find a place for his son Much respect for his decision and his class act

This might be the case with Venerables. He stated he wants to remain at Clemson until his son graduates and I believe his son is either a Junior or Soph. Point being, this thought might get fast-tracked given the coaching vacancy that just opened up.

Im hoping for Babers, but I think they'll go with a full-court press on Cristobal.
 
I honestly think he saw Clemson and Bama destroy their opponents and said to himself there is no way I will be able to get Miami to that level so might as well give it up now.
Very honorable of you ask me..

add to that this was the most difficult year of his coaching career... He was exhausted.

At UGA he was the CEO... He comes to Miami and he's coaching again, game-planning, fundraising for an IPF, launching a grass-roots campaign in the community. This was a huge uptick in effort for him at a point in his career that he probably wanted to wind down. Hopefully he stays around in a leadership and developmental capacity.

Recruiting was shot and he couldn't attract QBs based on the staff decisions he made. He took his shot but it ultimately didn't work with our program.

He brought it on himself.... he is the one who wouldn't hire someone as OC and step of out of the way to play the CEO role....

If he did, he would have still been here.

Think he’ll be hot commodity in the broadcast booth. Classy guy well spoken etc.

Cristobal's buyout right now is about 10 million. It goes down by 2 million a year. I don't think he's a realistic option right now.
 
Blake declares changes will be made. Richt isn’t about change. He is consist and long term like Bobby Bowden. Rock meets hard place. Richt did the honorable thing and retired. He is a good guy. Just wasn’t a good fit for modern ball in a big city.
