BOT force him out?

Do you think Miami saw what last year brought them $$$. And saw that next year was going to be crap. So now they play aggressive?

They did not force him out. They may have been pushing for wholesale changes on offense. That means little Richt was being forced out. And if that is the case Richt probably just said enough is enough.

He was gonna have to fire himself and his son and couldn’t do it so he stepped down; I understand and respect that.

Writing was on the wall after the 20hr national DC coach search was cancelled. Richt laid an egg in the bowl game and cemented things.

He may have been given an ultimatum concerning an OC and his son. He didn't like it so it may have turned into a retire or be fired situation. He probably didn't want to be fired from his school.

Mark Richt has never fired coaches on his own and wasn’t going to start now especially with one of the first to go being his son.

But the guy looked tired and I don’t think he could have held up health wise to what would be coming next year especially if /when we got manhandled by UFAG...

The admin was probably telling him to fire himself, his son and Searles.

He was probably willing to fire Searles. He might have even been willing to fire himself.

He certainly wasn’t willing to fire his son.

I think Miami’s fanbase is toxic rn..and he stepped down..that’s honestly what I think happened. Fans ran a coach out of town.

Yep, and ***** the 85 kids who have aspirations to succeed at their craft and possibly go to the next level.

... he needed to be fired ... and would have been, if not for the bungling AD and his extension...

Probably had nothing to do with repeatedly dealing with knuckleheads on his team and in recruiting...probably...maybe.

He was burned out. When he left Georgia, he said we wanted to take a year off before returning to coaching but then this job opened up and wouldn't have been available.
