What Do you Tell Top Talent Now?

Said it in another post, these kids are not stupid. They see what is going on good and bad. They understand we are feilding a team that is less manned than a pro team and we do not have a practice squard to call up guys when someone gets hurt. They seem we have a small squad than a lot of high school teams. They know we just got off probation. They know!

They also know it does not take a roster of 5* player to win a MNC. It takes players with a passion, desire and will to win. Show me one younger player that has played that does not show that. Recruits see our freshman balling out. Yeah, they are not perfect, but they are balling out and a recruit knows that can be him next year. That is what we can sell. We still put player in the NFL and are still respected for doing so, that we can sell. We are a top 50 institution in the nation, that we can sell.

To those that sit on here and spew poison, go find a new team. It does nothing but hurt this one. It is obvious that this team is struggling, but you can't win the Kentucky Derby on a donkey. Give Richt some thoroughbreds and lets see how he runs the race.

The only team more talented than us that we've played thus far is FSU. Our schedule has been weak and we just lost to the worst Notre dame team since the 1970s.

Keep telling yourself that this coach will maximize his talent when he couldn't do so at Georgia or even leave them with a sensible roster despite living in one of the most talent rich states in the country.

I think we get a pass this year. Mos of the recruits have probably been partially sold on them being Richt's guys, and hey see immediate playing time. Record doesn't matter as much as we think. Want an example?

That awful, terrible team that somehow beat us yesterday currently has the number 6 recruiting class. They'll definitely finish in the Top 10, despite not even making a bowl game.

Also, as I remember, FSU lost to UNC. So maybe they are better than we thought. We took 49 player to VT, that is barely 2 deep, over half underclassmen. But Richt sucks because he could not take 49 guys to VT and win. Love your logic.

So tell me which of you wonderful coaching guru's could coach this team to the Coastal and beat Clemson? Saban, Urban, Art...? None of them could. Saban was 7-6-1 at MSU his first year, 8-4 at LSU and 7-6 at the mighty Bama. None were on probation, and none were playing games with only 49 guys.

We have what might be the best front 7 on D next year, if not it should be top 5. One year in the system, bigger, stronger, faster and more understanding of assignments. You must see this to any CB and S target as it will make them a better player.

On offense it is selling playing time. Staying home and playing in front of family for some. We have done it before, but these coaches need to be better at identifying talent than the prior coaches.

If we fix this n shut the gate down n get our plan a kids in the next two classes we will rise.....if we dont we will suck easy.

Its not hard to figure out man....butch knew this Howard knew this JJ still till this day knows this. JJ even said fsu had one of the best rosters hes sen when they won the title.....and everyone knows y. They took plan A kids from oos and sfla...kids that would be playing at um 13 years ago

With butch they didnt have to go to class just like at unc......**** if imma stud n u tell me imma gwt my degree and do absolutely nothing in class and i get to play football....then thats where im going. Play the game or stay irrelevant

Winning is everything for most top tier athletes. We don't win. Also lame student body, lack of hot ***** around campus, dead atmosphere for 75% of "home" games, basketball conference, pathetic fanbase, other top $EC & A¢¢ programs pay better, not a college town.. We don't win.

Tell them it's evident Fla, bama etc....have much better returning players at their position.....show them depth charts along with commitment lists....let them know the percentages of playing early to help bring the U back..... last but not least "guarantee" playing time.....let them know the position is there to lose....

So tell them they are not good enough to win a position battle at another school. But they are good enough to come start for us.. Thanks for the boost of confidence I guess

But FSU was right down at the bottom with us when they had Bobby Bowden...Then here comes Jimbo Fisher. FSU was not winning before he took over, what was Jimbo telling recruits then ? How is it that they could come back from their drought but we cant ? Why has Washington been able to come back but we can't ? Oregon doesn't have a huge tradition of winning, they got to the Playoff. I don't buy it

Im as disappointed as anybody about this season, but the whole "Miami will never be good again" thing is an exaggeration to me. IMO we're an offensive coordinator and 2 recruiting classes away from where we need to be.

You tell them what we want to do offensively/defensively and that we are lacking personnel to do it and they fit what we need. You tell them there is immediate playing time and as soon as we get the horses we need we will start rolling people! Pretty easy to sell. Mark Richt has a proven track record (75% in SEC over 15 yrs) and 1 season with a team lacking talent and depth should not change that. Now after 3 yrs and no improvement then the recruits start screaming bull****!
