It’s not been utilized appropriately. They don’t really serve a purpose. I can’t speak for smaller irrelevant sports and how they’re used as of late but for instance.. Epstein and Blake ran straight to Manny Diaz when Richt retired - the committee served no purpose. When Richt became available there was no other candidate - the committee served no purpose. It was already decided that DiMare would be the baseball coach - the committee served no purpose. When they hired L was the last time I think they actually utilized the committee but it was an obvious choice at the time.
Agreed. Some of us have debated "if you have a committee and it never does anything, does it really exist" in the past. We just need to find a new model of governance, and one with more transparency. It's one of the few things they can do to re-engage the fans and donors to make us feel like our participation and contributions matter.
