What a bold move by Mark Richt!

Perry is now QB1. No need to speculate. The fact that Rosier played only 2 series and did not enter the game again says it all. I think the move was in the plans all along. Richt was just waiting for N'Kosi to have a better grasp of the playbook plus the fact that he was ruled out of the LSU game for disciplinary reasons from 6 months prior.

It all makes sense. We have 2 consecutive home games where Perry will be most comfortable. The only game on the schedule that gives any concern at QB is the VT game. Perry will improve every week to be playing at a high level by the end of the season.

This is about the future. The future is now. There isn't any game left on the schedule where Rosier would win more games than Perry.

Malik's low energy and poor body language are bad for the team. That's why the offense immediately took on a new energy and looked better with Perry's rhythm and increased tempo. He also tends to be feast or famine, and getting Brevin involved so easily shows there's a lot of high %age, chain-moving offense left on the field with Malik at the helm.

Richt has been in a tough position because the timing, for development reasons or big-game experience, combined with maturity issues, never created a clear opportunity to make the move he's gradually trying to make without jeopardizing team success this season. I've said it before, but I think this approach against FIU maintains competition and flexibility, while also injecting energy and continuing a positive developmental trajectory.

Malik's 5 TDs last week were deceptive because, he makes it harder than necessary and the younger dudes can't get better with him not putting the ball where it needs to be. He's unequivocally plateaued and, despite obvious growth in the offense, it was time to see what else we have at that position.
