What’s with Lofton’s low rating?

He's like Charles Clay, for those that remember him. Cool af football player, but no idea how you truly project him. He's very scheme specific, IMO. Would wager he was told something different by every school he visited and considered.

His grade reflects "He's a really good football player we have many questions how he'll be utilized, but he'll be pretty good."

247 does their player ratings based on future NFL draft expectations. For example, their number of 5 stars reflects the number of 1st round picks in the NFL draft.

If your looking at it thought that lens, he is probably rated appropriately due to his height. If your looking at potential college impact, I also think he is very underrated.
