Many coaches have been fired relatively soon after contract extensions. If the will is there to fire him, the contract extension will make no difference.

Coaches that get extended after a surprisingly good season when their stock is high and then immediately plummet back down to earth get fired quickly. His stock wasn't high but his agent floated the idea that State Pen was interested and parlayed it into an extension.

2026: $67.5 million
2027: $56.25 million
2028: $45 million
2029: $33.75 million
2030: $22.5 million
2031+: $11.25 million

He's there at least 3 more years unless he chooses to leave on his own.

Yep. I’ve said it before. Money is not and will not be a problem there . This messaging about not having money is just propaganda, people really shouldn’t be buying it.

They haven’t finished lower than top3 in the last 5 years..so im thinking maybe more top teams will try to replicate the Indiana formula? Or they will just close strong? I was thinking the same with texas

Nil money obviously isn’t an issue for them

Deboer and their GM have adopted hardball, strict rules for OVs and commits this cycle, along the lines of USC.

Difference is USC has the pockets to implement those kinds of restrictions on their recruits.

Bama, not so much.
