We all know that the lack of on field success has hurt the program.

There’s a couple things that have been missing on top of that.

All-American lists and high draft picks were synonymous with the U. But we’ve barely had any high draft picks or players receive those honours.

This year we have Rousseau and Jordan who could both be potential AA’s and high picks. Roche and King also have a chance (but weren’t developed by our staff).

This has definitely been held against us in recruiting. We need that to happen this year and continue down the line to really be able to continue to land The big fish and compete for NC’s.

Wow. Extremely insightful.

How many times we going to try to figure out the equation that we need to win more?

We have had some serious weak links over the years, often at multiple positions any given year. You might be able to survive having a ****** kicker if the rest of the team is great, but a kicker and an LT? Or a safety and a QB? Or a linebacker and a punter? You get the idea. Glaring weaknesses at multiple positions every year for years now, much of that to do with coaching, the common denominator amongst our bad or, at best, average teams.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

I mentioned this in another thread, but winning has a halo effect on NFL draft choices. We can be happy with our NFL record for most first-rounders in one year, but not all of them were huge successes in the NFL. Similarly, when we have had a ton of guys drafted on the third day of the draft, they have tended to stick on rosters. Now, we often see NFL busts coming from (possibly) too-highly-drafted players from Alabama or Clemson.

When we win 10 games per year, we will have more pre-season AAs.

And when we win 12 games per year, we will get a lot more NFL first-rounders.

It's not magic. Success breeds success.

This ****e is relatively simple.

1. Get SoFla kids to stay home.
2. Develop them.
3. Win with them.
4. Winners get drafted high.
5. Lather, rinse, repeat.
