Wesley Bissainthe has added muscle

Jordan Hicks was 3D round draft pick and ran a 4.68 and is about the same size.
Wes is faster than that. But he definitely has to show better film. Hopefully this system suits his skill set.
I'm not talking size I'm talking physiology.
6-1 235lbs is a manageable size, ask Perryman. But he was a 2nd team all American, but I was also referring to size to strength ratio. He gained weight but not much strength so I hope he's fast or more explosive.

I’m not sayin your wrong. But is max bench really a metric scouts use for linebacker?

Cause his max speed is pretty good for a backer and should be at least sub 4.6.

But are his film and stats as of right now gonna get him drafted? If he has the same performance as last year will it be enough?

Kinda crazy he only bench 305
I like Wes but that’s trash, I’m hoping he has long arms and that makes it harder for him to bench or something. You can workout with 225 for a month and push 305. But, I think they may mean 405. 225 (4 plates) + 90 (+2 plates) + 90 (+2 plates). It’s tedious af to lift exactly 305 lol

Its a combination of both.
His bench is low for his size and his power clean is as well 140kgs for someone who is 110kgs is limiting especially going into a senior year. Means he ain't very strong or he ain't very explosive.
With that being said, if he doesn't light up the film because of his speed or other small space movement, then no one is gonna draft him based on projection or potential.

To be clear I think Wes is a pretty good football player and actually would be a great long term ST type player with his attributes.

He's the size of a linebacker now with the strength and speed of a safety.

He'd have to take the nickel backer route in the NFL.

He's what he's shown, average to above average ACC linebacker.

Hopefully he's doin 305 for reps. If that's his max, he's not doing but about 10-11 maybe 12 reps at 225. That won't make NFL teams salivate.

I don't

I hear what you're saying, but that's less important to his effectiveness on the field at the college level IMO. I don't want him taking on OL anyway. More interested in him playing fast and navigating to the ball carrier.

Yeah that’s just not true.
Actually, you're right., I agree.
I should have prefaced it base don the statistics and performance he's put on so far, again just an opinion. I love the guy he's hard working and a local and he's certainly been around enough of different defense i want him to succeed.

Benchmarks suggest the following for a 232 lb individual, assuming they are male and fall within the standard age ranges for strength training (likely 18-39 based on available data):
  • Beginner: Around 158 pounds.
  • Novice: Roughly 173 pounds.
  • Intermediate: About 215-240 pounds.
  • Advanced: Approximately 305 pounds.
  • Elite: Potentially 387-425 pounds.

305 and running 20mph isn't all world but by all means isn't bad.

I don't

I agree. There are many things to judge a player on, which is why they have different events at the NFL combine

Stepped on the scale this morning as was 232 as well. Down from 255 when I was drinking 15-20 beers per day and a bottle of whiskey every 2-3 days.

Wes carries it a little better than me these days but I've got him on the bench by about 20 pounds.

****, Hope you quit man. I couldn’t imagine drinking that much daily… Just 15 beers a day is literally an entire days worth of calories too…

Explains why I went from 185 when I graduated college to 255 in 6 years. Casual/social drinker only now but I never had a ‘problem’ or anything. Always functional and could stop when I wanted/needed to.

15 today would have me blackout most likely.

I'm betting he can do more than 305. I was benching 225 at 135lbs when I was his age so yea I would expect more. My buddy who as a LB at Palmetto benched like 340 at 195 lbs. But bench isn't super important if you have speed.
