I didn't want to disagree with this threads sentiment, but I'm with you here . He flashes both great and awful... he'll get there but he's got a ways to go.

That's what I saw, but also didn't want to be negative, as I do believe Wes is learning into greatness. On championship teams, he would have a lot more time to develop so we wouldn't see these growing pains play out on the field.

Flagg is so bad in pass pro it is hard for me to watch. But I acknowledge he's improved a lot in run defense. Still makes some bad gap decisions. But overall he's turned himself into a valuable contributor. Good teams will smoke us over the middle though. The only guy as of today who covers is Kiko, and that's barely adequate. Cloyd is spotty but makes plays, and the other two unwatchable. Thought that would be Keontra's specialty but he's slower and less agile than I thought he would be. Chase Smith, Popo and Bobby have a lot of opportunity to take snaps because of their speed and agility.

Just keeping it real. We're roughly at the level of LB play of Shaq, Pinckney and McCloud. But I agree that the talent and development is there to keep getting better.

I think people **** on the linebackers in the passing game without knowing the coverages. We run a lot of zone defense and most times one of the safeties has hook-curl coverage also. Our corners are hardly playing up so they both have deep third a lot. So it’s not just the linebackers who are messing up over the middle of the field. Also, we are spying and blitzing a lot, so on many plays only 1 backer is actually in coverage. Watch the games and you will see when we do the trash *** DE in the flats, if we bring a corner, the LB on his side covers his vacated area. We have guys everywhere but we have to sure up the middle, with whoever is there.

he is starting to round into form. I want to say it was @Lance Roffers and he can correct me if I am wrong but when everyone was all hyped about T2 Terrence Lewis potentially coming to UM Lance was watching game film of central and (paraphrasing) while T2's athleticism couldnt be questioned he was asking who #17 on the same team was because he was the better LB. Someone pointed out it was Wes who was a year behind T2. Glad to see him reaching some early potential.
 
He disappears as soon as an offensive lineman get a hold of him.. he needs to add a lot of strength but once he get that him and Bobby are the future. They just way too small right now

How about our Guy Flagg tho..the one y’all wanted to send to FAU or something..finally winning folks over. He’s been very solid this year
