"We're still on probation"

On record for Golden is excuse number 1 for the year with "we're still on probation". Complete difference in coaching with Urban on how he handled the loss of 9 scholarships and sorry man of a coach Golden.

Q. You've mined the recruiting territory in North Carolina pretty well. At the same time you've had to not only fight the battle of rebuilding a national powerhouse, but you've had a slightly fractured fan and alumni base. To have to put out fires on that front and still compete in a competitive conference with the expectations that come where you are, you've had success at every stop, but is it a little tougher when you have so many things going on so many fronts?

COACH GOLDEN: I don't worry about those other fronts. There's nothing I can do about it. Again, when we got here, obviously we were blindsided. An investigation that lasted two and a half years. We're still on probation. We're still not at 85 scholarships. It is what it is. There's nothing we can do about it. From that standpoint, I just look at the positives. None of the stuff that we're in right now was in place not even two years ago. We have a $20 million football facility. We just sent $7 million on our practice fields. A couple summers ago we didn't have any fields. We're installing lights right now. We have a $4 million training table. We're doing a $120 million medical facility adjacent to our football field, which is going to have sports performance, MRIs, outpatient surgery, a great addition for our student-athletes. Obviously with the generosity of the Dolphins, we're going to have a $400 million palace to play in. From that standpoint, I don't worry about the rest of that stuff. At the end of the day, you know, as a leader you got to sit up there and take it and you got to lead and you got to build strategic and tactical systems and move the program forward. That's what we're doing.

was this suppose to make it sound better bc it failed doing so?

No, but it does put the comment into context somewhat. I don't know why it's so hard to post things in their entirety while providing a link, but apparently it is for some.

I don't like him saying what he did, it sounds like an excuse to me. He's stating a fact (we're still on probation in the sense that we've lost a few scholarships so he's not lying in this case) but that doesn't excuse our players on the field whatsoever since we've recruited far better than a good many of the teams beating our *** of late. You also have some draft success the last few years, again compared to those beating our *** on the field. He also shouldn't talk about scholarships being missed since he's had a horrible attrition rate that in most cases is squarely on his shoulders.

Just STFU Al and win. I wish someone in the media would ask the tough questions many of us would, but what would be the point I suppose besides embarrassing him publicly. At this point, his record and list of bull**** is embarrassing enough.

Golden reminds ACC media that "When I got here, we were blindsided.... We're still on probation." Said feels no pressure to turn it around.

Golden feels no pressure because he doesn't give a chit about Miami, the players, or the fans. He didn't get the job he REALLY wanted, so basically he saying, "#### it. I'll collect my money and set myself up for life off of these jokers. Not gonna lift a finger to change anything."

Did this cat really say "a couple summers ago we didn't have any fields"? Lol what a joke

He's under no pressure because he's going to get paid one way or the other.

He's a loser and he proves it every single time he opens his mouth.

"We just sent $7 million on our practice fields. A couple summers ago we didn't have any fields. We're installing lights right now."

Now that's intentionally dishonest. No fields, where did we practice Al? Yes, we didn't have lights, but why the heck do we need them now besides to keep up with rest of college football. Previour MNC's didn't need lights, so again Al....STFU

Meast, guess we were posting at the same time.

Yeah man, the players had to practice out in the parking lots behind Mahoney/Pearson Residence Hall.

Shin splints mane!

"No pressure to turn it around." 6-7 at a program with 5 National Titles and there is no pressure to succeed.

If you purchase Miami Hurricanes season tickets or attend any games next season you are not a fan of the program, you are an enemy, end of story.

Ill be there, supporting the players not the coach.

This comment justified my decision not to renew my season tixs. Since Golden does not gives a rats *** about winning I will not spend one dime on tixs or merchandise. Wake me up when this nightmare is over.

The cloud is the best thing to happen to him, without that there's no extension, higher buyout and no built in excuses for being a god awful coach.

I really don't know if as big of a canes fan as some others are, because there's no way in **** I'll attend a game this year. I really have no level of excitement. Thanks Al

This ******* talks like he took over a startup program, not a 5-time national champion. GTFOH.
