"We're/Miami's still on probation"

Why?

The Shapiro investigation started in 2011, months before the Ped St. investigation.

Yet, the PSU investigation was expedited...they got their penalties before us...got all their scholarships back before us...and Pater-HOE got His wins reinstated.

If our probation ends this year like some have said, coupled with how long the investigation took, that means we'd have been on probation for 5-6 years. Yes, the protracted investigation was probation since other teams used it against us ("Miami's gonna get the DP").

And not too long ago, it was revealed that PSU was covering up for the sissy going back to the 70s...they basically lied about how long they knew the abuse was going on...but they want to consult UM to kick 2 players out for allegedly lying about some **** cars?

Disgusting.

Based on alot of what has been posted these last 24 hours, Stephen A Smith and Charles Barkley of Cane fans have
been correct.
Kudos to them!

The purposefully dragged their feet in our "investigation", because it made it so much easier for other schools to come cherry pick talent as long as they could say, "You don't want to go to Miami. They're going to get HAMMERED!" NO other reason for that crap to take so long. You had a convicted con artist spewing crap that was mostly lies, yet the NCAA, and most of their member institutions, wanted badly to believe them. Why? Not to punish UM so much as it was to make it easier to suck the talent out of the area. That is why they made it go on so long, and even started fabricating crap just to keep it going. We shouldn't have gotten ANY extra probation out of that.

Apples and Mangos.

Correct.

Our "transgressions" were child's play compared to theirs, the worst lack of institutional control in the history of the NCAA, probably all of sports...but we're still on probation.

There is no question there was a LOIC at Penn State insofar as little boys were being raped on campus and no one did anything for years.
But at the end of the day, that was a legal issue first and foremost.

It would have been no different if UM had knowingly decided to keep players on rosters who had been accused of raping chicks.
That would have NOT been relevant to NCAA rules.

Hence......Arugula and Oranges.

This. Much different circumstances.

Although both parties were giving different forms of impermissible benefits

PSU hid child rape to keep the gravy train going, coaches & administrators benefitted.

****, even Saban's ***** (Emmert) said they didn't hit em' harder, because it would've been a big economic blow to crappy valley.

Regardless of what happened with Penn State Jermaine Grace and Quan were both stupid for the decisions they made now have to live with the consequences now our focus should be on the current players who are trying to turn around this program.

This was 100 percent a choice on Miami's part - don't buy the line that the university's hand was somehow forced.

I hope Grace and Muhammad are able to land at D1 programs this year like Young did, and I hope all 3 ball out.

People also forget that Penn State signed a consent decree, which wrapped the investigation up pretty quickly, They were able to get their punishment immediately(They in essence threw themselves at the mercy of the court), and then appeal and whatnot as they went along. Miami didn't have that option, mostly because the alleged Shapiro allegations were right in the NCAAs wheelhouse, and there were people in the organization that wanted to make an example out of Miami, logic be damned. Remember the following: the NCAA had to break their own investigative rules in order to get dirt, because they couldn't gather the evidence through traditional means. Players didn't talk, and those that did admit to benefits served their suspensions and moved on. It was a rogue booster, not an organizational matter and yet the NCAA bent over backwards to ***** with Miami. Schools like Alabama, and others, it's institutional. Ole Miss, it's institutional, but you know the NCAA won't say anything, because they don't want to open that can of worms.
