By showing up for 4 quarters today, the committee is stuck with us and they know it. There are too many important people, at too many networks in our corner now.
On college gameday today, Nick Saban said if Miami gets in, we'd be the most dangerous team in the playoff. We showed the committee why. Much as I can't stand him, his words hold weight.
We've got analysts, commentators and players from every network, media outlet and channel coming to our defense. All of them are saying our head to head results have to matter. That little ***** *** ***** Joey Galloway is on a shrinking island with a few nobodies at this point.
As far as getting to #10..
I think Alabama beating Auburn by double digits (so far so good) actually helps us. They can frame it however they want. Call it a good win over an SEC a rival for all we care. Alabama will move up to #9..
BYU will drop.
We actually have a common opponent with BYU. We beat Stanford 42-7. BYU beat them 27-3. The committee will use today's win as justification to jump them.
Another reason the committee can get away with us jumping BYU this week is that it doesn't really matter where BYU is ranked. They can and will still get in if they beat TTU.
But on Tuesday, we'll be ranked ahead of them.
That means #10 will come down to Miami vs ND.
We now have 4 common opponents with Notre Dame AND a win against them. Look at the results:
Miami beat Notre Dame 27-24
NC State: Miami won 41-7. Notre Dame won 36-7.
Syracuse: Miami won 38-10. Notre Dame won 70-7.
Pitt: Miami won 38-7. Notre Dame won 37-15.
Stanford: Miami won 42-7. Notre Dame tbd.
I don't make these types of thread often. But I'm feeling THAT confident about our chances, so I'm calling it now. On Tuesday, we'll be #10 and as of selection Sunday we're going to the playoffs!
