we're an OL away from being a playoff team..

I just hope we figure out the Run Defense and Special Teams. They OL is starting to play better, end of the game last night was great to watch. The run defense terrifies me right now though.

No we aren't. Our special teams are still a huge liability. If we play someone good where field position matters, we're in trouble. And nearly every punt of ours is blocked.

We definitely have Special Teams issues. We could correct it with a solid recruiting cycle on key ST positions.

The OP point about OL would also aid our ST.

I still believe the wholesale defensive substitutions has a lot to do with the lapses in the run defense. I don't believe the defense has a problem stopping the run as a whole. When JJ4 gets get you'll see less of those runs leak out. Mr. 4x All Dade is a beast cleaning up the leaks.

Have we had a punt blocked this whole season? I don't remember any.

**** you Norton, RJ, and Owens. Do you know how deep our defense could be if you three weren’t a bunch of selfish slap ****s? Norton prob bailed because he knew Willis would take his **** this year. Wouldn’t be a good look losing your starting gig your senior year (No offense, Rosier).

I agree OL is a major weakness, but not our only question mark. Still think Kosi isn't where we need him to be to truly compete at a high level. Hope he gets there as he gets more experience.

What's important is that he is getting the experience now. Richt has finally decided to be willing to trade youthful errors for experienced inconsistency and below average play. Smart.

Kosi has an opportunity to get better now.

I hope you're right. I counted at least twice that Pinckney tried to run into the same gap as Shaq on his run fits. I had to rewind it because I couldn't believe a guy with his experience was doing do that. Seems like freestyling at times with some select few on D.

Oh my, all I see is improvement each game and our running game last night was indicative of improvement. Give it a rest!

Special teams is a concern as well but I generally agree -- they need to figure this OL situation out if we want to get to the next level.

Haven’t we rushed for 200 yards the last 4 games? Sure we can improve on the line, but it’s impossible not to notice the improvement from a year ago to now. Our 3rd down numbers are way up. Rushing yards are way up. Sacks are few and far between. We are getting there.

Lose to LSU: we suck, fire everybody

Beat UNC: we're on the verge of being a playoff team
I keep saying there has to be a balance. We are not far imo. But we still need depth and development at some positions. When Scaife, Campbell and Cleveland are up to speed i think we will have the talent on the OL to match anyone we play. I think we can grow as a team by season's end providing we stay away from injuries. We have improve on 3rd down on both sides of the ball and we can now run the ball fairly well. If Perry keeps improving. Lets go

Do you mean a team that could reach the playoffs from a horrible league and get trounced in the first playoff game? Or a team that could actually compete in a playoff game?

When exactly does Hartley get the chance to work on special teams? All of the sp teams have offensive and/or defensive starters, and he has to coach TEs. Can't work on sp teams for most of practice since players are walking through the plays with the coaches or going up against the scout team. So maybe at the end of practice when the starters are available is the only time to work on special teams, after players are already tired, and they just want to get off the field. So you have tired, uninterested starters coached by a guy who isn't available most of the day since he is coaching tight ends. That is why every single aspect of sp teams from fgs to returns is garbage.
