We're Air Raid Now...

I think field conditions were a big factor. Some power runs got stuffed because our guys could not dig in.

Plus we dont know how to block, lol..

I havent rewatched the game or even seen a tv copy but Arroyo REALLLLLLLY struggled to block on run plays and if we only had 7 in first half what that boy did dont make sense, they had him pull inside and he whiffed on some block his guy made tackle. He missed another early that I saw in real time, I thought he was complete TE but maybe just a pass catcher which is cool but will limit us.

Another play we actually ran a counter, edge unblocked, #78 came around, literally LOOKS at the edge guy he should block and lets him go unblocked and blocked no one while edge guy makes tackle on cjjr run for loss. We cant even block up a counter play when guards should be salivating to ear hole a player.

I feel the same. Early in the first quarter before he went out with the leg injury, Anez Cooper pulled from his guard spot to seal the edge on an inside handoff. From what I remember, he got to his spot in plenty of time but instead of plowing the road, he stopped, stood up straight and let a much smaller defender initiate contact and drive him back. It was soft as **** and largely contributed to the play not working.

You'll have to watch the full-game tape for it because it only went a yard or so. But it has stuck in the back of my mind as a reminder that, as good as the line looks in pass pro, there are problems when it comes to creating holes. A wakeup call is coming if, for whatever reason, our passing game isn't running on race fuel that day.

Or maybe we finally have a QB who can throw routine passes and not see ghosts?

this play right? was a double whammy - 8 lost his rep and 73 as you noted should have road graded dude and instead ended up engaging with no leverage. could have been a huge play had martinez been able to get free of 26, but 11 also missed his block downfield (he usually is really good at that though).

73 got it back a little later on that drive when he pulled on lyle's 2nd and 2 conversion, while 88 absolutely stoned his guy on the edge. was great to see coach's throw 88 a bone on the next play with his big catch over the middle. 8 missed another inside run block right after cooper went out too, and i remember on one of fletch's big second half runs 8 missed another one but it didn't matter cause fletch is a beast. going forward i'd like to see more 2TE sets with 8 & 88 as we'll be able to run a lot better out of them and both of those big guys can stretch the field in the passing game

I still remember all the arguments I had with the Super Tuff Bro's on here that we needed to be more like UGA & Michigan & "pOuNd tHe rOcK bRo!"...

As I've been saying for years, we are at our best when we have a lethal uptempo passing Offense.

Our best chance to win the most games on an annual basis is with being a high-powered Offense.

Running the ball is necessary & it's always good to have that ability, but for MIAMI, we need to be able to put the ball in the air & score at will in order to put us in the most advantageous situations to win consistently.

We will never be Michigan or UGA.

our program was married to the pro-style for about 15 years too long. As Ive said before, we were the last family in then neighborhood with a Blockbuster Video membership and still used the VHS

In my heart, I believe if Jeremiah Smith could’ve went into the future and seen this he would’ve come here. Maybe I’m being delusional lol

I absolutely agree with this. Kids want to be sold something, a vision. And I really think these games are a selling pitch -- this is what we do, and we want you to be a part of this

This offense and this style of play sells itself to elite players
