Dave Aranda being announced as UM DC Thursday morning? Upon what exactly do you base that statement on?

I don't believe a **** bit of that.... Although I wish it were true

Miami is about to look like, feel like and smell like a real southern football team.

Shoutout to Donna Shalala for stepping down, she's the reason Miami looked like crap the past decade.

Shoutout to the Board of Trustees for waking up and smelling the expresso. It's about time big time dollars are being spent to keep up with college football in the South.

Shoutout to Blake James, I'm still waiting to see if he has the wherewithal to get an Indoor Practice Facility built for the program, no excuses.

I feel confident in stating that I believe Miami will be ready to take what is rightfully hers and win her 6th National Championship under Mark Richt. When you see a man making big time assistant hires, has a history of successfully running a program and has the backing of Mom and Dads throughout the South...you can trust him to get the job done.

It'll take time for sure, if he learned from his mistakes at UGA, there's not one goal Miami has set out for herself that I don't see her accomplishing.

Are you going to put your money where your mouth is and donate to the program? Me thinks probably not.

Yeah I'm with you. The Corey Raymond stuff definitely seems to have legs as there is a ton of smoke about it. To my knowledge, the only smoke on Aranda is coach Kool following him at the same time he started following our commits. The Aranda stuff may indeed turn out to be for real but to this point I have not heard of anyone mentioning his name in relation with UM.

It would be a fantastic hire if true. I do have a few questions about him but nothing major. If the Raymond rumors are true and I feel they are, I believe his title would probably be Asst DC/Defensive Backs or something along those lines. I don't think Richt is going to roll the dice on a first time DC even if he feels Raymond is going to be great. What makes the most sense here is hiring an elite DC and prep Raymond for the position in 2-3 years. Dave Aranda would be perfect for that type of scenario as he has raised his profile to the point that if he has success here he will be offered a HC position relatively quickly.

You assume I'm not already a donor because....

Quite frankly it doesn't matter. Seems like a good bit of you are stuck on this negative vibe that I don't really give much care for.

Ah I see!

Big time college football programs have experienced, certified, master professionals at the head strength coach position. Until Miami fixes that glaring hole, the football program is staying right where it's at.
