Weird, Coley was such a trash but now is with Georgia!

Cuz, Coley took a **** demotion. He went from OC at a P5 school, to a WR corch at a P5 school. See, that's going backwards, which is called a DE MO SHUN! No one disliked Coley, he just was bad at his job. Pretty much everyone on this board thought Scott did a **** good job here. We had all these kids drafted last year, and we won how many games? Talent was not our issue. We had talent. We just had too many guys that didn't know what the **** to do with that talent. Thanks for the laughs, tho.
 
Abortion of a poster. Can we get some reasonable balance around here?

Of course its talent. But its not all talent. You cant look at that half back pass and say that was because of talent. You cant look at being one of the worst penalized team on planet earth and blame talent. You cant look at teams like BC's defense and blame our talent.

Make no mistake about it. The reason those guys got job is for recruiting and nothing else. Miami is the gold mine and connects into it are some of the most valuable commodities in the game.

The issue is getting staff that can keep the kids at home that we need. A staff that kids have confidence in and that kids relate to. Golden was neither.

Golden clearly didnt understand Miami football and only understood a Penn State way of thinking. He was a Yankee selling a used car. He couldnt relate. Thats your period.

Larry Scott was offered a job and Coley was deemed expendable.

They also have been smeared in SFL by the Golden name. Who you attach your ponies to can determine where your land.

Richt was needed to create a new name and a new face and to motivate the BOT to put up the bucks to kick start the whole thing over again. .

Good to see Coley's family members joining the site.

He's one of the worst OC's in the history of the program and is NO LONGER CALLING PLAYS.

Where I come from...that's called DEMOTION.

Well, to be fair...part of his post is right. Nothing about this program has been top notch. ESPECIALLY the development and coaching.

We have also complained about all the big timers leaving town. So, to act like we are some Alabama or Clemson type beast ready to pounce now that we have better coaching is not realistic. The better recruiting and development we all now believe can and will happen must be given some time. Sure, there is talent to work with...but some of you need to stop acting like this is some finely tuned machine requiring only 1 decent Spring and Summer to compete in the SEC West.

Big time talent needs to be landed. Players need to be deprogrammed and reprogrammed. Just reality. How quick it happens relies on quite a few factors.

On a related note: I just left my job as a Senior VP to take a position with another (similar sized) company. My new position is as an entry level Marketing Rep.

Yes Im making far less money now but this is a great career move for me.

That would be correct, the staph under Guldens was not bad. It was atrocious and was very likely the worst in P5. Your evidence to the contrary is Coley getting a gig at UGA as a WR coach? Going from OC to WR coach is called a demotion. Coley wasn't horrible in and of himself but Fat Al had him in a position that was beyond him. If Coley had been QB coach here under a great OC then it's a different story.

As far as Scott is concerned, he was regarded by most here to be the best coach on the staff. That being said he certainly wasn't irreplaceable. You also conveniently leave out Jethro Franklin/Randy Melvin, Paul Williams, Donofrio and Kehoe. Randy Melvin was an upgrade over Jethro but nothing significant. Paul Williams was a complete joke as DB coach. Hurlie Brown was OK nothing more. Kehoe was a Rah Rah guy who was far from a technician and well past his prime. Beard has potential and Ice was brought in to bolster recruiting and help win the locker room back over to Gluten. That staff was a disastrous combination of retreads and amatuers. In other words it sucked.

Now, if you point to Banda and Rumph as your proof that Richt is hiring amateurs then I will simply say that The Grim Richter won 145 games in 15 years in the SEC. If The Grim Richter thinks that those hires are a good idea then I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. He has earned that much. Also if The Grim Richter thinks that sacking every single one of Gluten's staph including Swassey is the way to go then I not only defer to his judgment but applaud him for it. If the previous staff wasn't so bad as you say then why would The Grim Richter clean house like he did?

Trust me man, Golden's staff sucked massive quantities of dead penguin diques!
