Data entry error sounds like a fancy way of saying the voter made a mistake, imo; otherwise, idk what that means.

Not saying the AP should have allowed that first one or that it’s excusable in either case, imo it’s worth a removal by itself, but i don’t see any connection between the two voters to suggest it was preplanned, and it’s not as if they consistently rank Miami lower than the rest of the pack.

Regardless, ive seen plenty of Miami fans are/have contacting/contacted them about their error so they better not slip up again.

A public apology like this is the least they could do IMO. Maybe invite them on the cis pod? @DMoney

Jerry Humphrey looks about as qualified as I am to have a vote in the rankings. These polls are a joke, no wonder the $EC has 2/3 of their **** league in the top 25.
 
Im rooting for Pitt to take down VT on the road this Saturday. They have a weak schedule before us. If they go to VT and win, they should win their next two of UNC at home and BC on the road. Then they go to Miami.

If the above happens, and we take care of business, they would likely be a top 12-20 team. It would also likely be college gameday, as our only competition would be Ole Miss vs UT (they have already seen both campuses)

With our terrible schedule, we really want our opponents to win so that we have at least one big game outside of ND. Dominating in big games are so big for recruiting and buzz, and we aren't given many chances.


Sidenote: There is a very good chance Duke is 9-0 when we take them on as well. That would be another top 15 matchup at home if true.

Agreed lol. This is the first season I’ve tracked people’s ballots week to week and it’s made me wish I had the self-restraint to ignore everything until the committee’s rankings came out regardless lol. IMO, It’s pretty bleak when you (i) realize(d):

CFP selection committee > AP Poll > coaches poll > BCS computers.

The SEC/B1G bias is still there w/ the committee ofc however they are way more serious than the AP poll’s participants; yet alone the coaches who are doing these rankings without having time to be able to watch enough games to be informed about who deserves what.

BCS is trash bcuz of FSU>Miami in 2000. Washington > Miami i could accept.

Haven’t gone back and checked each week; however, just off scanning the claim—top 7 is doing a lot of work as a qualifier here:

BYU has had been left off once when ranked 9th this year, as had Notre Dame in 2014 week 4. UGA week 4, 2016, ranked 12th. 3-0 VT ranked 13th in 2017, week 4. Utah and Penn state 13th and 14th in 2022 week 4. South Carolina ranked 11th week 3, last year. I’m sure there’s more, but it does appear his statement is true

Also gotta say we only know this because the AP poll is transparent. An investigation isn’t even needed; we just need the two guys who did it to explain themselves lol. Without a doubt in my mind, coaches have ****ed up as well, probably even more frequently. We just don’t know about it because their weekly votes are not revealed; we only know who the voters are.

And I don’t think we have any idea who the voters are in the “Coaches” poll lol
