Some complain the 12-team CFP diminishes the importance of the regular season. False. Look at how many games this weekend matter. NIL and the Portal have created a semblance of parity.

The 4-team CFP pool was the same handful of teams every season and nearly every other team was running out the string of the season and a meaningless bowl game. by November.

Yes but the aTm game this weekend and the PSU-IU game last weekend would've been MUCH bigger under the old system. The 12 team playoff has made more games meaningful, but it's completely eliminated those absolutely massive, drop-what-you're-doing, season-defining regular season games
