OT: Too far out to be reliable. Meteorologists are throwing darts at a big board while blindfolded at this point.

It's a real challenge, we are going to prepare for each possibility Joe, rain or shine. We just have to be ready for whatever the weather conditions that present themselves and face them head on. And, I'll tell you what Joe, the staff is working their tails off to get these kids properly prepared. We know Arkansas State is doing the same, so the challenge is in front of us and we need to treat this as one single mission whether it's raining or hot and humid.

We're not going to make any excuses about the weather, and both teams had to deal with it, but I'll tell you that it did impact our gameplan and our performance. We have to do a better job at responding to adversity and managing the variables, and that starts with me. We'll analyze all aspects of responding to outside conditions. I'm really proud of our guys for fighting through the conditions - we got better today.

At the end of the day, it's all about competition. And, right now, we are where we want to be. Does that mean we can't get better? No. Does this mean we are happy with where we are at? No. We need to take this as a learning experience, just like everything else we do. Get back to work on Monday and keep on teaching, keep on developing the players.

Groundhog Day.

We were dealing with an exotic storm, really a tough situation. I thought we didn't stick with our identity and trust our process enough. Again, don't want to make excuses, but with a young quarterback, a guy that's not accustomed to these conditions being from California, a guy that came in and worked his tail off, went from 228,225 pounds to 210, 207 pounds, worked his tail off to get ready, I thought we needed to do more to help him. That starts with me.

Yes we were 2-15 on third downs but we don't look at it that way. We look at the "money downs" the downs where it's third and 3 or 4 and our team is between the 45 yard line and the 38 yard line and it's not raining. We were 2-3 on money downs, 67%, and that's elite.

We are going to take this as an opportunity to better ourselves. Granted, it was a disappointing loss, but we still have a lot to play for. We have to correct a few things, open up the playbook a little more, and get ready to face Nebraska, and then, the conference slate. This team has faced a lot of adversity and I expect them to bounce back with a great week of practice, be ready when we step off the plane in Lincoln and be ready to compete.
