We will still win at least 10 regular season games. So, ....

I appreciate the optimism, but don't call for Richt's head if we fall short of ten wins and the Coastal.

I will not, but it is not going to happen. The Good coaches win, and it does not take them long to do it.

Not counting out 10 wins but our depth is a joke. Its going to cost us games.

Depth does not cost you games. Poor front line talent costs you games. We have front line talent. Barring major injuries to our front line talent, we will 10 regular season games.

How the **** did you come up with that one? Depth doesn't lose you games? It most certainly can. Remember when we were hanging with fsu in the first half, then Duke got hurt? Remember the year befor that when we went to halftime basically tied, then fsu pulled away in the 2nd half? Depth. (The last 2 years were most def about al sucking a ****, but before that we had some that were about depth).

But no, you probably don't remember do you? Because your just a dude who started an account to troll. Well done.

The way some of you talk and think with that loser mentality you would still think al golden is the head coach.... Richt is an established coach, 9 out of 15 seasons he has won over 10 games.... This is what he does...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from perhaps Bruce and the guys that are done for the season, everyone else is suppose to be ready to go by GT if not FSU. So what is the problem? Are people really worried about App. State and GT? You can't be serious

Anyone critical of anything ever is an illiterate communist. Change is for the weak. Human beings don't posess weakness. Just hold in all your criticism, it hurts everyone else's feelings. Don't wait for results to form an opinion, judge everything based on gut instincts. And even more importantly, never EVER learn from your past.

That had nothing to do with depth . That had everything to do with al golden being our coach.

The year Duke got hurt was all about depth. Next man up doesn't work when you don't have a second Duke Johnson sitting on the bench. How can you make this argument? Miami wasn't a better team when Kellen Winslow and Willis McGhee couldn't get on the field because there were more experienced guys with as much talent? We wernt better when we had future all Americans playing special teams? You're either trolling or just stupid, either way I'm done explaining the obvious.

Depth is important for good teams. Losing AQM, Young, and Grace hurt big time and that came with them being idiots. That was potentially 3 starters(likely 2 but Young was important for depth). Then we lose Gray, Gordinier, and now Bruce for the season due to injuries. Not starters although Gordinier and Bruce would've played a good amount. I was never high on the overrated Gray but he's still depth in case of injuries in front of him and special teams. No starter should play on special teams IMO and some will have to if our players continue to drop like flies. That's where depth comes in play. Special teams whether you want to believe it or not is an important part of the game. Kick off/Punt coverage team and the return units use depth from the team. When you don't have that, it forces starters to play in those areas. I don't know about you but I'd rather not have our starting CBs or LBs being in on coverage teams. Those units are extremely thin. Depth over the season plays an important role and can definitely win games against good teams. Our depth sucks point blank period. I'm not saying we can't win 10 games but saying depth isn't important and all that matters is front line talent(which we lack that in several areas anyway), well you're sadly mistaken.

The coaching staff upgrade is obviously a huge boost to our ability to win, no one disagrees with the that. But it's still the players that gotta play. It's not the team we are putting on the field now that is a problem, Richt has identidified we have enough first line talent to win but that the depth isn't there. And that was before recent suspensions and rash of injuries. It isn't the next few games that it will effect us. But there's no saying Colbert and Jenkins are back by FSU, it's a possibility but still have to see how they progress through their rehab. Owens is supposed to play today so hopefully he is worked up to full go by GT. Harris has to fight through his broken hand and Moten deal with his shoulder, however severe that is.

But the potential problem with the lack of depth comes down 2 things.
1) less talented and less experienced players playing which WILL bring down the collective talent on the field. That may or may not translate into the W/L column but it's undeniable. Hopefully the backups are smart/athletic enough to be able to execute the scheme and allow the playmakers still out there to work.
2) I think more importantly, less depth means more time on the field for the first line guys. More snaps on defense/offense and special teams. That means more fatigue by the end of the game and as we move deeper into the season. When guys get fatigued the amount of mental and physical errors goes up and the likelihood of injury increases.

These aren't excuses but just facts. Still gotta go out and play. Still have a chance to win, it just becomes more difficult.

Who else has a 2nd Duke Johnson waiting in the wings? He was our best player, and we were playing against a better team. Of course, losing your heart and soul will hurt you when you're trying to beat a better team just like if we lose Kaaya this year or Clemson loses Watson.

We shouldn't need the 2001 roster to go 10-4 this year playing in the weakest P5 division in football.

Fair point, but that's what I was doing. Making a point. I used Duke as an obvious example, but the truth is that our 2nd and 3rd string guys aren't nearly as good as fsu and nd, and even against lesser teams this can come into play.

I'm not saying this is an excuse to have a crap year, but depth matters. I don't know what's up with some people, but pretending like only starters matter doesn't make any sense. As usual, it's not all one thing or another. First string can win you games and second string can lose them. Hopefully our first guys and coaching will get us to the 10 wins we all expect. Just saying it's no longer as easy as people were assuming it would be.
