We’ve all been taken advantage of. Our loyalty and fanaticism have been toyed with for too many years for me to expect anything else.

A lot of factors came into play for us to win 5 national titles. But looking back at it the only thing that was never on board 100 percent was the school itself. Even after winning they never took advantage of the huge financial benefit that comes with winning multiple championships. They don’t even honor the past as much as other schools that haven’t even won 1.

This university has only one child and it’s the school of medicine and all the accolades and research money that comes with it. And do you want to know what hospitals care more about than anything else? Image and reputation. I’ve had entire department chairs request equipment and man power that no one in administration cares about. But if one patient writes a bad google review within 15 minutes I’m getting a call to explain myself. And I’ve used that to my advantage. Whenever a patient complains about something I literally tell them to write a google review. Holy sht does that work like a charm. So that culture permeates the entire university. It’s the reason they didn’t hire the pirate or Mullen. It’s the reason they never went after Mario. It’s the reason that Lane train is at ole miss despite him coaching in south Florida. All of those coaches were apparently good enough for other schools including 2 sec schools but not us. Including one that came within a missed extra point from going to overtime with Bama.

Even if Nick Saban himself calls and said hey “I’ll take a pay cut” they wouldn’t hire him cause he spits vinegar in his press conferences and acts like a madman on the sidelines.

They hired a dude with a tie. Then a grandpa that never got mad. Then manny that talks like a sports cliche dictionary.

The school is going to do what it has done. Lie to us about to wanting a championship squad while not even coming close to following any of the steps that the schools that are actually trying to win have done and are doing.

Any school that really really really wanted to win would’ve put an end to this BS at the latest Sunday night. Why so early you ask? Because they would’ve likely have seen the writing on the wall and had a round in the chamber and an attack plan in place. But James has proven he isn’t that smart to have done that and also to lazy to put in the leg work to do so.

All this talk about Mario and all the other top candidates is all just wishful thinking by us. Those dudes will never coach here. They will hire an up and comer from somewhere that has never even stepped foot in sofla.

I hope I’m wrong but past performance is the best indicator……

The pressure will be on the admin to hire an experienced coach because all involved(the fans, the press) will be focused on the hire and the candidates experience. A bad hire will be rejected out of hand. No one will say lets wait and see anymore. He will be booed from the first press conference all the way out the door. The banners will come out and the president of the U will have to deal with that the whole time.

It will be worse than ever because no one has patience anymore.

Eh. It’s more than just a coach. There are a lot of schools who are a lot more committed to winning who hire lame duck coaches all the time. FSU isn’t quite on par with a lot of the SEC schools, but they certainly dedicate a lot more resources and take football more seriously than we do. Since Bobby retired, they hired a first time HC. And it really worked out for them. When he left, they hired a guy with 1 year as a P5 coach and a career losing record. Then a guy with no P5 experience. It’s just about finding the right guy. Miami paid a lot of money, for our standards, for a proven winning coach. He just made some mistakes (hi, Jon Richt) and was burned out. He wasn’t a bad hire. The guy was like 100 games over .500 in the SEC. We just want to win the Coastal.

I think it’s a lot more than that. This entire thing is rotten. The athletic department, the community, the kids, the coaches, everything. There is just something “off” and it’s not just Manny and it’s not just Blake. It’s everything. IMO the only way to attempt to fix it is to clean house and hire somebody young who KNOWS how it needs to be done. Not an up and comer. Not a rising star. Not a retread. Someone like Mario. Is he the best possible candidate? Is he a guaranteed champion? Probably not. But he won’t be an abject failure like we have been for 20+ years now. I’m not sure what his ceiling is, but his floor is pretty **** high. It makes me sick to my stomach to say this, but there’s a goofy dork about 5 hours north in Hogtown who has the reputation as “high floor, low ceiling”. Anybody think this program would be in better shape now than it has been for 20 years if that slapdick was here? Go find a coach who you know won’t be a complete laughingstock. We’ve had too many of those. Mario is on a short list of realistic candidates to fulfill that wish, that’s for sure.

Worse, they may keep Manuela!

I'm ALREADY disappointed and have NO EXPECTATIONS of improvement occurring anytime soon.

So if something good happens I'll be pleasantly surprised

And if as expected the usual reoccurs, MEH I'm already disappointed

We are not getting Cristobal. So just put a way the pipe dream. Everything else I agree with.

Playing a bit of devil’s advocate here, but only slightly:

WTH do you expect when we’ve never been able to consistently fill a stadium and, in reality, have a lot of bandwagon fans who don’t donate to the university or the athletic dept, and who have a hard enough time scraping together a couple grand to fly a banner every few years?

Even in our best years, games against lesser opponents (like say Rutgers or Temple or BC in the old Big East days) would get maybe 30-35k in the stands.

We’ve trained the admin that we won’t show up consistently even when we’re in contention for national titles. Sure, we’ll sell out games against big names…but there’ll be a lot of opponents fans in the stands too, it won’t be a sea of Orange and green.

So why would they go out and spend top-dollar for a coaching search and a big-splash hire? I’m sure they’re capable of running cost/benefit analyses, and maybe, just maybe, we fans are getting the program we deserve.

It's all by design. Football has brought shame on the school and takes the focus away from diversity and inclusion. It's over. The place is run by women and men with male genitalia but who identify as gender fluid.
Is gender fluid icky and slime? have no idea what that means

Patience is finito.............over.....done....at an end.. We WANT our Canes back.....and this is not the Canes we knew....

Donna Shalala. When that evil little witch walked through the door in 2001 the whole thing changed. Priorities, initiatives, policies, financial allocations, etc. More importantly the culture and mind set of both the administration and the athletic department changed dramatically. Did more damage to the Football program than 100 Nevin Shapiros ever could.

Here we are 20 years later reaping what has been sown.

Pretty much sums it up bro.

Tad Foote. Sorry, but check the history. It all started with Tad Foote. People on this site give him a pass for hiring Butch, and that Larry won title 5 under him, but check the facts. Tad hired his F@#%$ing lawyer to be Miami's AD. Said lawyer goes and looks for a coach with no head coach experience. Even Shnelly had a go at the Colts. Tad Foote tried and failed to torpedo the program.
