i dont see anybody on our board that we could use to replace Hagens. Walter Tucker just got moved over there but he started at LB, so you wouldn't think he was the first choice. We don't really have a backup there for now, let alone moving forward. Is it a spot we aren't going to use in the future, or are we just waiting it out?

i would imagine the staff sees some combination of tucker and gus taking fb snaps after this year
both will likely add some nice weight over the next year to hit a lb in the mouth

I'm guessing if they can land a big time FB they'd probably take him, but it won't be a priority. But if not, Tucker and Gus Edwards as a FB/RB hybrid should be fine for next season.

I would imagine the combination of Edwards and Tucker will fill that role for the next few years. Unless a stud pops up I would say no.

Duke mentioned at camp he was moving around and even playing some fullback.

He will pick it up full time next year to block for Yearby and Cook

UM will moive to more 1 back sets with a TE/H-back in motion to replace the Full back. We may even see some split back sets, currently the only reason we use a FB is because Mo Hagen is just to good not to use him. Even at FSU they used FB sparingly, but that offense was Jimbo's offense were as Coley will attempt to put together his own Pro-Spread attack utilizing Jedd Fisch's play book an Jedd was eliminating the FB when Mo left. Sticking with that blue print I think UM's offense will look more like what Dennis Erickson used to run, which I thrilled with because it scores a ton of points.

TE/h-back Chris Herndon.

I could see something like that. He is a little tall for FB at 6'4 (maybe 6'2 because the sites are off) but he could see some in the backfield.

Remember we were recruiting Daniel Gresham, so maybe the staff wants a FB.

Hagens is done after this year, curious to see if Walter Tucker could be the FB we need.

think the fb position will be phased out...Coley liked to sling it around when he was @ Norland if i can remember...

Tucker might have just lucked into a spot that he can play alot for the next 3-4 years.....

I see some walk on guys maybe challenging for that role...If not we'll just use one of our 5000 te's

Send Dobard into the pile as the lead blocker...pick up the scattered body parts of our fallen enemies later.

We will be able to see Herndon's actual height when he plays BTW this Saturday, plus many NFL offense use TE/H-Back as FB's in many off there offensive sets.

Do we really need a fulltime FB? Most of fsu/coley's offensive sets had 3 WR's on the field. We can use a RB like Gus to fill the FB role.
