He made us respectable again even though this year we regressed. He didn’t force school to fire him which would have limited us if money for next Staff. He recruited a lot of talent leaving Diaz with more than Golden left him. He is a Cane and always will be a Cane. Thanks Mark enjoy retirement with your family.

How about you ask Manny some real questions and not about what it feels like to be the coach of the U. How about we celebrate Richts retirement and wish his son the best somewhere else too. How about we hire a real OC not named Ponce. How about that!

I was all for giving Rick his props. But this Diaz situation reeeks of Rick influence and is an outright death blow to the program so he and his bible thumpers can **** off.

Oh go **** off yourself. If it were Richt's idea, Diaz would have never went to Temple. "death blow"? You have absolutely no clue how it's gonna turn out. People said the same kind of crap when Clemson promoted their totally unknown WR coach to HC.

The only Richt influence might be how to be a better person as they are two different types of coaches

Youre thinking too narrowly.

Richt didnt plan this for weeks. Manny stuck around to coach the bowl game. During that window, richt fended off calls for change. He also got punked in recruiting. He could see what was comin. He got humiliated by Wisconsin, and obviously talked to Manny about the job before manny left town. It didn’t just happen. I have no doubt Richt used his buyout as leverage for picking his successor.

The biggest question when he quit was how could he do that to his staff. Now we know. He tried to tie up the loose ends, for himself, not for the good of the U.

The man has coached college football for 30 years and retired after his make-or-break year turned out to be a failure. He didn't quit on this team, he just wasn't good enough, he acknowledged it, and walked away. Meanwhile, Al Golden had the audacity to sue the University after robbing the coffers for 5 years.
Couldn't agree to this more. The guy retired when he realized the game has passed him. Instead of making the school fire him while he collects more millions of dollars, he decides he needs to step down. He needed to go and he knew it. Thank you Richt for bringing the excitment back, the IPF, and the class. Enjoy retirement!

Absolutely. He did us a favor by leading this program out of the Golden era. He donated $1M and made the indoor facility a reality. He got us to be ranked #2 if so for a week.

That’s better than any other coach since Coker.

Thanks CMR.

We look respectable on the field to you?

Am I missing something, any official announcement of who stays or go's?
He couldn’t have worked out that sort of stuff. I think he will feel better not taking the blame for what comes but telling himself he handed the program to diaz and manny - who was on his staff - will be responsible for the rest.

Richt knows he badly botched this job and left his staff hanging out there. He literally quit a year after signing an extension! He quit!!! Who does that? Seriously, it’s 100000000% proof that Richt was never a winner. He’s a quitter. Now all those who defended him know it. It’s irrefutable.

Good luck to Richt but where is this talent you speak of.....no QB, horrible OL, no proven good RBs or WRs, LBs suck and the DLine is above average....and not much experience in the DBs
