We need Quality Defensive Coordinator

We need an Offense that actually effing scores!

It keeps our D motivated and fresh!

Manny , just hire a effing solid O coordinator.

Now T makes sense if Rumph gets let go but he loves Muschamp like a love I only wish I can show my future wife
I was thinking D cord . He has tons of experience under Muschamp. Time find your own way usce is about to come to end. Plus manny can help him if needed but I believe he will excel

If I'm Diaz, I learn from my predecessor and do this correctly from the start.

For most teams, coordinator and head coach are different roles.

He needs a bonafide OC and DC. In the latter case, it's really important he agree philosophically but not have to spend too much time mentoring. It would be very risky to try with Banda what Shannon did with Walton.

I agree I just constantly see him with Muschamp and wonder why the **** won't he be a dc? You know he gets offers but even though I like Rumph for T I'd make that trade without blinking

I hope not. OP is correct. Manny needs to hire a real DC. Manny can give input, but he needs to focus on the bigger picture. We need someone who can run our defense without having to have a babysitter.
Having a babysitter is extreme. He's hiring a guy to implement his defense who has similar philosophy and understanding. He's running the same defense that we saw the past 3 years, foundationally. Same thing that any HC like Saban or Dantonio, etc. does.

Didn’t Randy pluck Bill Young from Kansas? The Jayhawks had the best defense in the nation that season if I recall correctly.

It only lasted a season but still there is a precedent in hiring some of the best in the business even when the HC is heavily involved on that side of the ball.

This isn't what you initially said. I agree. He should do what Saban and Dabo do, let their DC run the defense. That does not bar Manny from giving input, but we need him focused on the bigger picture.

I said he'll be very involved in the defense. You don't think a former DC turned HC will be very involved in HIS defense? That's not crazy at all.

I got what you said both times. To be clear, I'm saying Manny needs to hire a DC of his choice, someone with experience, with a track record of success, who he likes, and let them run the defense. I'm not saying that's what's going to happen, but that is what I'd like to see happen.

Another DC could run Manny's D. As a first-time HC, he needs to be able to focus on the bigger picture.

Manny can find a DC with similar philosophies for an attacking 4-3 defense. It’s not like the Miami runs a one-of-a-kind scheme.

Manny is probably still going to want his defense run. If you bring in an outsider they’ll run their own defense. Banda has been with Manny forever so if Manny trusts him then let’s roll. He’ll learn how to call plays standing a foot away from Manny for the next nine months

That would be a major Mistake. Manny should be Concerned with RESULTS ONLY.

CEO Rule #1

Al Golden 2.0 wanted to run his offense. Look what it got him....
