I have no problem with Manny keeping Banda and Patke on the staff. However, they are position coaches at best. Manny knows that. He probably laughed when numbnuts promoted them. We need an Experienced DC.

Any Suggestions?

I say we poach from other programs.

UF's DC

He hired this guy named Manny Diaz...terrible at Texas pretty good everywhere else though.

If the rumors are true about Rumph and Jess gone and Patke being reassigned, it seems like Manny definitely knows he needs a true DC so he can focus on the overall program. No way was he going to let those two inexperienced guys take hold of the defense. Just give him another day or two. He'll get to the defensive side of the ball.

Agreed that we need a DC to cook the defense and call the plays. Has to be someone willing to work with and report to Manny, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be an inexperienced yes man. That would be a mistake.

Another interesting name:

Joe Salave'a- co DC/DL coach at Oregon
Makes 550k per year

Need to open that Polynesian pipeline. Recruiting the polynesian kids is heavily dependent on family and connections. Someone who really gets the culture could have a bigger long term recruiting impact (OL, DL, QBs) than all the Corey Raymonds in the world.

Theres a 0% chance we could get Raymond. LSU is paying him a ridiculous amount and wont be outbid.

Every school in the country would love to hire him and he's turned down DC offers before.

Rumors are Miami has opened its wallet and Manny is swinging for the fences.

Unless Raymond wants to get a dc title and a chance at a HC we aren't getting him. LSU is paying him well and he loves it there plus Manny will have his hands all over the d regardless so if he's bringing in an inexperienced guy most likely he'll just keep Banda and build him up

They actually don’t pay him as much as you think. He’s only getting 500k or right around that
