We need more night games

Every one of bama's games are at night - it's crazy. I know it's because they are #1 , and it's probably somewhere in the SEC/ESPN contract that SEC teams get more night games than ACC.... but I wonder what Miami can do to bid for more night games.

If we keep winning and become a perennial top 5 team, wouldn't espn want us on at night?

Miami kids play on another level at night. Especially at home.

Nobody is “bidding” on night games. It’s dictated by tv and what they consider prime time matchups. It’s not in sec contracts lol.

...Bama had 7 scheduled night games, including the opening vs FSU on a neutral site, compared to our 5. It’s not that big of a difference. We were scheduled to play FSU and GT at night before the unfortunate events of Irma forced us to re adjust. If we want to be elite, we shouldn’t waste our time worrying about what time we play opponents like Pitt and UVA. Just line up and crush them like we SHOULD.

More night games will come as a result of the program being in a much better spot than it was in the Shannon/Golden years.

And this is a good thing, because the stadium was BOOMING Saturday night.

The networks want to broadcast the biggest games in prime time. Miami has to either schedule more marquee opponents out of conference or hope the ACC gets better if they want more prime time games. Nobody is tuning in to watch UM/Virginia on a Saturday night.

Sadly, our only hope of having a home night game in 2018 will be the FSU game. The rest of our home schedule is filled with mediocre teams.

Moreover, it will now get harder to secure a home and home with other elite Power 5 teams. Their AD's know...

Don't tell the TE coach of the Lions we need more night games (see how I didn't mention that program killer's name)

There have been night games against mediocre Duke, UNC, and Pitt teams recently. As long as the team is highly ranked there will be opportunities for ESPN/ESPN2 night slots. Those games aren't all that special usually as CBS (SEC), FOX (Pac 12/Big Ten/Big 12), and ABC take the highest caliber ones.
