Watching USF and UCF they both have guys that are threats to break one at any time.Berrios is as sure handed as they come but is a fair catch 90% of the time and when he returns one is for very few yds.Thomas came in with so much hype for his speed but has not come close to break even 1 this year. With all the speed in our back yard is un excusable the canes are no threat on special teams and in a game like today a big return could have turned the game.

Berrios needs to take more risks.

Loved that he finally said eff it in the 4th and didn’t call a fair catch.....then what do you know, he gets a pretty decent return.

Also,
I’m convinced Thomas isn’t as bad as we think he is. We can’t block on KRs....at all.

Thomas had a lane on the last kickoff. He had a clear path to the sideline but hesitated and turned upfield. He has not had much blocking this season. Dallas telling him to kneel when he should be returning isn’t helping either. It’s really a confidence issue with Thomas. He needs to trust his speed. All the speedy returners ala Benjamin and Moss (Hester is obviously on another level) routinely sprinted across the field to the sideline for huge gains. He missed a big one today. The kid has yet to turn on the jets and let loose.

Not sure what the deal is with Jeff Thomas on the kickoffs. I know some of it is not enough blocking, but I feel like there are holes there and he's not seeing them.

Special teams will improve with depth.

We’re only playing with 73 scholarships.

In ‘01, we had Winslow and Rolle covering kicks. Right now we have Knowles and walk-ons (if we aren’t being forced to use our starters).

it is totally on the ST coaching... even in the worst sanction ridden years we had better ST performance... our ST plays like Prairie View

73 kids is plenty. This was the same excuse under NoD. We have enough talent to no be this bad on ST

Hartley is the bag man.. needs to get moved to QB coach for the lulz and get Richt jr to TEs and hire a STs guy

Specials aren’t even that bad. Feagles has struggled, but otherwise we’re fine.

Coverage units have been good, and we haven’t turned the ball over.

Sure I’d like some more explosive plays, but specials haven’t been a net negative.

And being down 12 schollies makes a difference.

We need a major upgrade in fans, too...

They don’t let fans block or pass.

True, but some fans acting like little bîtches after a 10-1 season and a chance to win the conference and make the playoffs...especially after the last 10+ years is just completely and utterly fûcking ridiculous! Sure, be disappointed, but come the fûck on...This coaching staff and team has come very far considering what our roster currently looks like. There is still dead weight on this team, and not just talking about bench players. Lets be a smarter, more well informed fan base instead of showing our *** like Gayturds do...

Our coverage on kickoffs is horrible like a bottom rung Sun Belt team. If you think otherwise you must be watching Miami, Ohio.
