For being the GOAT 3-4 loss teams and for copying Alabama, but all the while that hillbilly was loading up on elite difference makers on both sides of the ball. Those guys had 4-5 star type of players redshirting.

This is the first class of Golden's where you can say that he is bringing in elite talent all around (not just a handful of guys).

We all wanted to trust the process, but how much blame does he get for simply not recruiting good enough/missing on too many players the first two classes? Sanctions or not.

Golden walked into a crapfest and is the victim of some terrible timing in trying to restock the shelves in a reasonable amount of time. However, last night?

The DC has to be canned for me to maintain confidence in Golden's CEO abilities. If I was D'no and gave a **** about my best friend, I would resign after the last game.

I agree.

I agree too..but if he is a true friend he resigns before the next practice

FSU attacks in every sense of the word defensively. We don't.

Do they have better players? yes
But they develop better players, have a top notch S&C coach, and have a philosophy that fits Florida talent.

We coach like we're playing the '86 Canes and we have white guys all over the field.
Ya it might work once in a blue moon ('13UF or '86 Canes) where you get the opponent to make a ton of mistakes but in the longrun it's turrrrible against good teams.

The question that needs to be asked though, are we as fans being honest with ourselves. Right now we are all coming to a realization of things because you can't deny them. Back in the summer, Jimbo was a corch and FSU wasn't all that good and their talent was only maybe one year ahead of us.

We on the other hand, had the best WR and OL corps in the ACC, WR was top 5 in the nation. Morris was poised to be a 1st round QB and both Porter and Pierre could be 3rd round picks. We didn't need MThomas or Collins, we had Figatron and Crawford was not only good but as good as Freeman and Wilder.

So now the question becomes where are we going as a program from here? Personally I think we won't be a legit team again til about 2016. It's a tough pill to swallow but our recruiting while it has gotten better it's sooty in that it wasn't balanced. This is the first class in a long long time where we seem to be getting the right pieces. We are a 8-9 win team again next year even though we will have ELITE at some positions. We have a long long way to go guys. **** it I've waited a good 10 already what's another 2-3?

Well said, especially the bold part. I made a few edits to the second bolded sentence.

We coach like we're hoping not to lose the game as opposed to dominating our opponent.

Agree with this. Golden inherited a roster without much elite talent, and the NCAA investigation clearly hampered recruiting, but our biggest issue is being too passive on defense and allowing the opposition to dictate what we are going to do. Then when we do blitz it is far too obvious where it is coming from and is easily beaten.

You can become a completely different team in 2 years, which is how far I think we are behind FSU. We have talent, we just need more in spots and quality depth.

oh, and fix the defense.

I think we can look a **** of a lot better in 2yrs with a new D coordinator

Maybe that passive defense is why golden couldn't recruit on the same level as fsu. Throw in the NCAA stuff and you've got a perfect recipe for recruits to say thanks but no thanks

This team can be fixed. We really aren't that far off that's the frustrating part. We have talent and more talent coming in. But if you want to play passive football then Miami is not the place you should be coaching

Couldn't agree more. Dorito blaming the players iced it in my eyes that he needs to hit the road
