We said all year on the podcast that the defense and the defensive backfield in particular would be the team’s weakness.

Where I was wrong was the defensive line. I expected us to be much better there and cover up holes.

The scheme didn't help the DBs. They formations and coverage allowed for a lot of quick or easy throws, not allowing the Dline to get there. Guidry needed to adjust more and didn't. Same with his adjustments on stunts and doing something a little different to confuse the offense. This defense was incredibly predictable to average fans...i can't even imagine how predictable it was for good coaches who did film study.
