We have to win out.

If we win out we will be top 5. How could we possibly be left out? Be honest with yourself.
We will not be top 5. They just dropped us a spot after a win. There is significant economic incentive to limit the ACC to one playoff team. The media apparatus will wrap its nuts around ND. Nothing about this process is fair. The ACC champ is in. That’s the only certainty. We not only need to win out imo, but do so convincingly to make it really hard to justify leaving us out.

Don't even worry about bro, Mario is our head coach, we will not win out. Even though we are more talented than everyone that's left on our schedule, Mario will find a way to coach us out of at least one more win

God bless anyone who believes we’re a lock for the playoffs if we win out. Pay attention to the narrative in the media as it evolves. More and more pundits will start to put ND ahead of Miami. If two ACC teams other than Miami finish with 1 loss and ND doesn’t lose again, I think we’re in trouble.
I'll bet you any amount of $$$ you want to bet that if Miami finishes the regular season 11-1 and is left out of the ACCCG, that they'll be in the playoffs.

I don’t gamble. In that scenario, it is likely Miami is in. It is not certain. That is reflected by the current -250 odds. So log onto fanduel and take those odds if you’re so sure.

What I don't like is Miami's OOC isn't being given enough weight, could have played a trash OOC like BYU and Indiana and still be at 10.

The playoff committee may see this differently though.

those odds are accounting for the fact that miami could lose another game

if miami wins out, they are in

I don’t believe that. We would be one of three or four teams to have one loss or less

What teams, in your opinion, are filling your style points and perception criteria?
Most teams are sec/B1g affiliated, which means they have paid talking heads to back them and promote their teams with no shame and zeal.. ACC is 2nd rate and gets no love.. When you understand that and not only looking at top 10 rankings but also what happens in bottom also it will make more sense..

Perception only matters for non sec/b10 teams... Oregon and bama both one loss teams struggled and looked like **** against inferior opponents... neither are held to the same standard, we have a much better resume than Oregon... doesn't matter. Yes we have to win out.

Sure. But Miami will be a heavy favorite in each game. It also incorporates the likelihood of Miami winning all those games and not making it in.

Here's some computer-generated data to mull.

The % on make ACCCG with 1 loss, lose, then miss the playoffs seems ludicrous to me. We should riot if we get left out in that scenario.

The only conceivable scenario in which we get left out, if we win out and miss the ACCCG would be if GTech goes undefeated in the regular season (beating UGA) then loses to UL/UVA in the ACCCG. GTech would get in as 2nd ACC team and we'd be on pins and needles. Odds pretty low it shakes out like that, IMO.

Any ACCCG with 1loss GTech vs UL/UVA/DUKE (lol), I don't think the loser gets in the playoff, but we 100% would if we win out.

This idea of a cap on ACC teams is a little silly when the other two teams in question don't play Miami head to head and have a lot of different opponents, there isn't much difference between Miami and Notre Dame in that case.

It's amazing how the narratives are pushed in modern college football. Miami sleepwalks for a half, pulls away and wins by 5 TDs "Miami avoids a loss". Oregon sleepwalks for **** near an entire game beats a dead Wisconsin team by 2 TDs "Oregon looked dominant as they overpowered Wisconsin".

The frustrating part is that the average fan will only read the headlines and ignore the facts staring them in the face, which ultimately influences poll voters, because most of them are on social media and they take the temperature that way.

Seems like our odds would get better if ND knocked themselves out losing to Pitt, if we were to run the table and miss out on the ACC-CG? I think they are in if they win out. Looking a bit closer at the teams in contention, I think I gotta retract my previous porst in this thread. There appear to be a few ways we could win out, miss the ACC-CG, and get screwed.

You're basing that off of the AP poll and how things would fall down the line. Remember, the playoff committee creates their own rankings beginning next week. We may be surprised to find Miami is like #15 according to the committee so that down the line, the SEC/B1G get the benefits.
