I know we've been pushing for Michel and/or Cook, but now with Duke Johnson's injury, and the potential for recruits to get some serious playing time (assuming Duke doesn't return 100% when the season starts), you gotta believe Golden will be selling playing time that much harder with the lack of depth behind Duke.

If I had to guess, I'm guessing we'll flip a commit from another school, not the obvious Sony or Cook... Its becoming more evident where our weaknesses are in terms of depth and offensively, RB is one of those gaping holes! Crawford is decent, but the drop off from Duke to him is pretty considerable!

Next year should be better if Yearby or someone else becomes that elite talent to complement Duke. :emotcrown:

On a side note, does anyone know how long an injury like Duke sustained takes to full heal? It didn't look nearly as serious as Malcolm Lewis' but, still looked pretty bad.

Next year we'll have Duke, DC, Gus, Yearby, Powell what the **** else do you want? Another RB is a luxury not a necessity.

What about a big back?

Gus is 6'2" 225 not sure how much bigger you want. Not to mention he'll have a full offseason and UTough.

Fine a big back that won't get stopped at the goal line by two garbage teams.

I guess it boils down to trusting that he'll develop under this coaching staff or not. I think they've done a good job with DC.

When Gus works on getting his pad level lower, he will be able to burst through on goal line situations.

This board just turned into a clown car over night, huh? You want another stud running back, OP? Where do you come up with these brilliant ideas?! I have an idea for a new thread title: WE NEED TO RECRUIT AWESOME LINEBACKERS YOU GUYSM!

I think we need to recruit awesome posters and do away with the mopes.

Sorry, but I'm one of the most optimistic fans around... never bash and never have that "apocalyptic/world is ending" mentality. I'm just calling it like I see it. I LIKE crawford, but see him as a decent "filler", I'm not sold on Gus just yet... So to answer your question... YEA! We NEED another stud RB. I hope Yearby is that guy... But it sucks how you lose one guy and you have possibly become one dimensional... I guess that makes me delusional?

If we didn't have message boards to talk about whats on our mind, then what are they good for? Nevertheless, I'm not here to ruffle feathers... just post when things come to mind... carry on

Everyone need to quit panicking and let the coaches do their jobs recruiting. All of our problems will not be fixed with plugging in a freshman RB to the lineup next year. The coaches will develop Gus into the big back we need for the rest of this year and years to come.

yearby and powell coming in im not worried about the depth for next year

Then u have no idea how to build a beast program cuz them cats I love them but there not cutting it. U have to add either cook or sony both big fast as **** and home grown that should play here. Getting Cook IMO now changes next season drastically. Hes the type of guy FSU cant chase down to the edge, every other back they can chase and shut them down.

8-12 weeks. He'll be working out in January, if I had to speculate.
